Knitters/Crocheters

I know that there are a few of you.
I have a lot of time on my hands, so I'm attempting some new things. I'm actually using patterns now, where before I just knitted whatever came about. Big Grin

I'm beginning to realize that I only have small needles and I'm becoming a yarn snob.

I knitted a hat for my nephew, one for myself (no patterns), a baby-carrier (no pattern), and now I'm going to start working on some fingerless gloves.

Anyone else? Any deals on good yarn, needles, etc.?

They have some cool "learn to knit" kits that make scarfs at Micheal's and Joann's. Get yourself a 40 or 50% off coupon from the Sunday paper and get going.

This thread intrigues me. Is knitting/hooking Coverlaugh hard to learn? Scratchchin
Nope, I don't think so. Some people find one easier than the other.

It usually takes patience to break through the "learning wall", but once you get it, you get it.

Iagree I have a mental block about knitting, but have been doing great at crochet since I have been practicing so much. I'm about ready to finish a bigger better mesh bag for Big Twerp's teacher's end of school gift. Can't decide what to put in it, though.... Scratchchin

You can also go to YouTube and watch some teaching vids. Also do a google image search for knit and crochet items to see which type of items you find more appealing.

I only crochet. I've never bothered to try to learn to knit because I don't have enough time to finish the crochet projects I'd like to make.

My latest mesh bag:

It's the same pattern as the last one, only I changed the handle. I sewed the two sides of the handle together instead of tying it. I like this better. I thought the variegated yarn in the middle came out nice.

Ok, it has been forever. I *NEED* to pick up my knitting again.....

I think I'll start today. Maybe. If I don't have a million things to do. Which I always do. Especially since I started my new job. UGH.
