I know that there are a few of you.
I have a lot of time on my hands, so I'm attempting some new things. I'm actually using patterns now, where before I just knitted whatever came about. Big Grin

I'm beginning to realize that I only have small needles and I'm becoming a yarn snob.

I knitted a hat for my nephew, one for myself (no patterns), a baby-carrier (no pattern), and now I'm going to start working on some fingerless gloves.

Anyone else? Any deals on good yarn, needles, etc.?

This [knittinghelp.com] is the site that helped me tremendously. Not like the youtube skittsh videos most are really clean and clear with good instructions. The home page has a video of casting on in one method .Ther is another page with several other methods. I use a slip knot to begin my knitting then a similar cast on. If you go to the view videos tab you can find a link for most all of the basic knitting stuff. There are a few links for advanced but I can't tell you anything about them because I am not there yet. Stick Out Tongue
oh that is where i saw the howto video I think

I would recommend buying the Klutz knitting kit, or, if you are already beyond being told how to cast on and such, Stitch and Bitch is a series of books, and it is very helpful, with some really nice, easy, funky patterns.

I have a circular knitting book that would help you tons in the knitting of a beanie or a headband, it is called "Very Easy Circular Knits" by Betty Barnden

I did it I did it! It's the triple treble! I read the instructions and found a video on youtube and actually did it the first time! And it wasn't hard! Yay!!! laugh out loud

Now I am about 10 stitches from the end what do I do there? How do I get up to the next row?:skeerd:

I want to start white on the next row and make it the center of the blanket. I laid it out on the ground this morning and looked at it. ANd think if I do 5 rows of white then reverse the previous pattern it will be ok as I don't know where it was going before. From the looks of it she didn't do the start a new color by weaving it in she just cut off the previous and tied the next and began.

Thank you for any help. Smilie

edit: also, When I am pulling back from the bottom of the stitch or whatever is there any way that I can avoid having to manually pull off the two with my left fingers before I loop again and have to pull off then loop and pull off. The lady on the net just let her needle slip right through mine won't do that. it always gets hung on the ones I am coming back through. Sorry idiot speaking as I am still not up on the lingo.Harhar

So it needs to look like a tail then I will pull it up and start the treble stitch in the #7 going back in the opposite direction... right?

(I also asked another question don't know if maybe you can help with it. It's just certain times not all but most I have to do it. )

lolStick Out Tongue Ok, you know when you put the needle through and you wrap the yarn over the top, when you are pulling back through the previous with the over stitch on the hook, I am getting hung up on the previous stitches. Does that maks sense. lmao I am sorry.

You will need to twist your hook a bit. It takes some getting used to... I think I point the hook part down when I find myself grabbing stuff I don't need.

Ok, thanks. I have tried to move it around and it still wants to hang up. It's probably cause it's all new to me. Maybe soon I can get it going smoothly.

Thank you again for your help. hug
