Knitters/Crocheters

I know that there are a few of you.
I have a lot of time on my hands, so I'm attempting some new things. I'm actually using patterns now, where before I just knitted whatever came about. Big Grin

I'm beginning to realize that I only have small needles and I'm becoming a yarn snob.

I knitted a hat for my nephew, one for myself (no patterns), a baby-carrier (no pattern), and now I'm going to start working on some fingerless gloves.

Anyone else? Any deals on good yarn, needles, etc.?

thanks. that gave me some ideas on how to do it. my purse isnt that shape. its more of a rectangle. i dont think i want to start with a lining already sewn up like that. i was thinking of doing it piece by piece.

Doh i hope i dont fark it all up.

I would think it would be easier and sturdier to construct the lining and then sew it into the bag. Dontknow

i finished my purse Whee. i did it from a pattern i found, but made it bigger since the one in the pattern was 6 by 7 inches or something. this is 11 by 9 inches and a couple inches in depth. big enough for all my purse stuff Girly

I have recently been delving into some old craft magazines I found ( I found a full 3 bound sets of something called Golden Hands)

One of the projects they had ( which was old and fugly and 70's) was how to knit, with beading on the yarn. OOOOO BOY, I am so trying that right now, as we speak. I am making a practice piece, with blue yarn and blue and white beads.

if it turns out ok, and I get the technique down, I am knitting up something special for my cousin, who is really into one of a kind funky stuff, and I can make her a cheap and funky Christmas present.

I also have to knit two pairs of socks, and a pair of leg warmers. Anyone have a good circular needle, worsted weight yarn, pattern for leg warmers? Everything I find involves double pointed needles, which annoy me, especially one something like a leg warmer, because, you never really do anything except go round and round, ya know? Or, it involves fingering weight, and well, the person I am making them for wants thick and warm and chunky leg warmers, not little thin fashionable ones.

Oh, and for anyone interested in my retro craft mags, this is an Etsy auction for ONE pattern from my books. I have 3 bound volumes of them! they only cost me $3! I love myself sometimes!

Looks like that etsy sale is for the whole magazine, TSNC. But cool! Profit is profit if you can find a buyer.

Great job on the purse, GeminiiGirl! Did the lining work out like it did in your head?

LMAO not really. i suck at hand sewing. i guess it doesnt matter how crappy of a job i did as long as its in there and protecting the inside a little bit.

i use the Stitch and Bitch Kittyville hat, and just resize, it's fairly simple.
