Knitters/Crocheters

I know that there are a few of you.
I have a lot of time on my hands, so I'm attempting some new things. I'm actually using patterns now, where before I just knitted whatever came about. Big Grin

I'm beginning to realize that I only have small needles and I'm becoming a yarn snob.

I knitted a hat for my nephew, one for myself (no patterns), a baby-carrier (no pattern), and now I'm going to start working on some fingerless gloves.

Anyone else? Any deals on good yarn, needles, etc.?

That's cute. About how much yarn to make one? One or two skeins (the smaller ones I'm guessing)? I might have to try a hat-I have a huge noggin and store bought ones are sometimes too tight. Sadwalk

Thanks!

I used Encore Colors by Plymouth in the worsted weight (200 yards). One skein will make two hats (using Dale Ann's pattern). That hat is slightly smaller than what a normal one would be, because I went with size 6 needles.

I just found out that a lot of churches around here have something called "shawls for comfort" where they teach people how to knit and crochet shawls for people who need them. Wish I could get out to one.

Cute scarf! I'd love to make it, and it says easy, but I'm lost already at step 5! Sux being a knitting noob.

I'm almost done with my first chemo cap! So excited!! I love the one you posted earlier, KTM. Very nice. Mine looks chunky b/c of the yarn I used. But it's warm and fuzzy. Smilie

I need to learn to knit. I taught myself to crochet, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out - right?

Thanks! Blush I'm so excited. I miss being crafty. I've got leftover yarn from my baby blanket hormone extravaganza with my last pregnancy (3 yrs ago now...) so I'm going to burn through that and then get some pretty variegated stuff.
