. . . . . said the doctor to my bride when she had two of my kids in for their wellness visits today. What does that have to do with anything? And the doc didn't let up. My bride kept telling her that she doesn't need to answer that question; so the doc asked it multiple times throughout the visit.

Snopes has no accountability to anyone. They are not a source of news, and additionally, their fact-checking is often incorrect. Even in cases where they have been wrong, they rarely take steps to correct their misinformation.

Worse, the Mikkelsons (the husband and wife team that run Snopes) will often insert their own beliefs in their write-ups and present them as 'truth'.

This is not to say that Snopes does not have it's usefulness. However, if you rely on it to be an unbiased source of news, you are doing yourself a great injustice in two ways: 1. you are assuming that they are unbiased, and 2. you are assuming they are indeed a source of news.

They have been asking that question for many years, Way way way before Obama became President.
And if they ask they (should) counsel a person on safety because so many people and children are hurt by guns.
