The *official* "Screw you Bill Belichick, get the hell out of my favorite sport, you're ruining the game" thread about the lack any New England Patriots sportsmanship (Now w/ POLL)

Quick open letter to the head coach of the Patriots:

Dear Mr. Bill,

You're the head coach of the best team in football, congratulations on your tremendous efforts. Now fark off and leave the sport to those that do not just consider it simply a business because you're sucking the fun out of the game and ruining this sport for not only fans of the teams you embarass, but kids that are learning about something you seem to totally lack: sportsmanship.

Its easier to explain Janet Jackson's floppy booby during a wardrobe malfunction than the planned and continued deliberate actions taken by the players under your direction. Sure its your job to win games, are you not good enough to do it without constantly skirting the rules, using deception and just out and out farking cheating? You're a dirty, unkempt, embarassment to the game.

Get the hell out of the sport.

Sincerely,
- Fans of the NFL and the ultimate purveyors of your salary
Against which team would Tom Brady most likely suffer a career-ending injury?

New poll should be "Will the Patriots ever win another Super Bowl with Bill Belichick as head coach?"

Bill Belichick you just farking blew it. How the fark do you go for it on 4th and 2, up by 6 with 2:15 to go? What the fark is wrong with you? Do you enjoy us watching you lose in the last 5 minutes to Seyton? That has to be the stupidest decision I've seen you make in 8 damn years.. You lost us this game. What a horrible end to this weekend. Never thought I'd say this, but: You suck, Belichick. You farking suck.

I'm thinking about changing the title of the thread to "Please stick around Belichick, NFL fans love a bit of drama and have a ray of hope that you'll make more boneheaded decisions when their team plays the Pats"

... and they wonder why the Cleveland fans hate him so. Belichick's thoughts "hmm... do I give the ball to Indy with one timeout, needing a touchdown and 80 yards to go and under 2:00 to play or do I try to run up the score in their own stadium? Yea ... fark'm!" (while his assistants are cowering and thinking "... or you could give the ball to Manning with just 30 yards to go ftw ...")
A) Indy had two timeouts.

B) They only hit the 2 minute warning BECAUSE they ran that play. Indy was getting the ball back with a little over 2 minutes, giving them the warning plus 2 timeouts.

The way they were moving the ball, it didn't matter if Peyton had to drive 28 yards or 128 years, he was going to get it. 2+ minutes is a TON of time. As it stands, the Colts had to WASTE time on their 28 yard drive to avoid leaving the Pats too much time, they left a timeout in their pocket. There's no doubt in my mind that Peyton would've driven 28 yards, 40 yards, 60 yards, or 80 yards, just as easily with 2 minutes left. He's no slouch at running the drill.

The big mistake here was calling a play that would barely get you the two yards you needed AT BEST. You have to call a play that, if completed, would get you the first down. If your offense fails, your offense fails. You can't call a play that doesn't get you the yardage, because the offense did everything they were supposed to do and it wasn't good enough. Banking on YAC is just stupid, it's something the damn Jets would do. Call a 5 yd play when you need 6 and hope the receiver makes a play.

Check out this takedown at 0:20 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgI3ogHYPE8 (Belichick bodyguard)

If the New England secondary covered Indy WRs as tightly as the bodyguard hovered around Belichick then the game would have resulted in a different outcome Wink

I love that his tendency to go for it on 4th downs finally bit him in the ass. Jackass.

Iagree but note that Indy only had 1 timeout (not 2) and got the ball back with 2:03 left.

You're right, I forgot Indy burned 2 timeouts on the Pats drive to stop the clock. But on 3rd and 2, Brady threw an incomplete pass that stopped the clock at 2:11. There's a good chance a punt return could've taken less than 11 seconds, leaving the Colts enough time to run one play and still stop the clock at the warning, with one timeout in addition to that. Either way though, it's a full 2 minutes. Let's not pretend like Peyton Manning can't run a 2 minute drill.

yeah and if you need proof, here's a drive summary from last night
• 29-yard touchdown pass from QB-Peyton Manning to WR-Pierre Garcon (Drive summary: 5 plays, 79 yards, 2:04 seconds) COLTS 21, PATRIOTS 31

In that situation the correct call would always be to punt the ball, unless you have absolutely no faith in your own defense. Even if they had punted and then the colts came back and scored I really doubt that anyone would be arguing today that they should have gone for it on 4th an 2. That was just an idiotic call.

Indy was turning the ball over throughout the game, you have to punt and maybe Manning throws another pick or you get a fumble, you just can't give Manning a 28 yard field.
