The *official* "Screw you Bill Belichick, get the hell out of my favorite sport, you're ruining the game" thread about the lack any New England Patriots sportsmanship (Now w/ POLL)

Quick open letter to the head coach of the Patriots:

Dear Mr. Bill,

You're the head coach of the best team in football, congratulations on your tremendous efforts. Now fark off and leave the sport to those that do not just consider it simply a business because you're sucking the fun out of the game and ruining this sport for not only fans of the teams you embarass, but kids that are learning about something you seem to totally lack: sportsmanship.

Its easier to explain Janet Jackson's floppy booby during a wardrobe malfunction than the planned and continued deliberate actions taken by the players under your direction. Sure its your job to win games, are you not good enough to do it without constantly skirting the rules, using deception and just out and out farking cheating? You're a dirty, unkempt, embarassment to the game.

Get the hell out of the sport.

Sincerely,
- Fans of the NFL and the ultimate purveyors of your salary
Against which team would Tom Brady most likely suffer a career-ending injury?

New poll should be "Will the Patriots ever win another Super Bowl with Bill Belichick as head coach?"

bingo. there's unwritten rules. you don't run up the score on a team you have beat. you don't throw when up late, you just try to run out the clock. its not that the pats dropped 50 on the skins.

you have them beat. you don't need to kick them when they're down. kick a fg, be up by 40+. its like basketball.. you're up by 20-30 you sit your stars (and yes, i know they've been pulling brady). you don't try to embarass people.
Don't blame the Pats. Even the backup QB scored. I blame the Skins for rolling over and playing dead. Show a little farking heart. Stop them on 4th and short if you have some pride. He was right not to go for the field goal, that would be rubbing it in their face. He was also right not to kneel on 4th down, just giving them the ball back is also rubbing it in their face. What was he supposed to do?

I have to agree that going for it TWICE on 4th down when you are killing the other team is unnecessary. Not that it's little league and you don't want to hurt their feelings, but you are risking injuries by pulling that sh!t.

...although it helped me get more points for Wes Welker Big Grin

Agreed. They gave up, unlike Miami did last week. At least Miami tried. New England's defense only played half a game last week, this week belichick made them play an entire game.

Still waiting for an explanation of "fair play" and "sportsmanship" as it relates to the New England Patriots. Scratchhead

Because they beat a team 52 to 7 means that they don't play fair or have sportsmanship? Had the Redskins not given up in the game and tried to play and save their pride, they might have had a chance to stop the pats from being up 52-7 at the end. The point is, this is the NFL, it's no longer high school football. You win games, regardless of how the other team "feels". This is business and a professional sport, if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen..

no one is asking them not to score, not to try to move the ball. kick the fg and go on. washington's fault for allowing them to the 10 yard line.do you REALLY need 7 at that point? was the game ever in doubt at that point?

passing/going for it on 4th down has no other reason other than to score. bostongirl pointed to the denver chargers game.. difference was the last score was a 70+ td run. they weren't trying to score touchdowns that late. it happened and its ok. no one is asking him to go out of bounds after getting a first.

If you use one more badly written cliche, I may vomit

Uhm... should I start making up my own then? It seemed like the easiest way to get my point across.

I don't see what everyone's big deal with the pats is.. if it was your team, you'd be ecstatic.

Boys and 49ers were the exceptional teams in the 90s.
The Boys came down crashing hard, but not the 49ers. Anyone wanna guess why? NE will suffer the same fate as the Boys. History does repeat itself.

Personally, I feel that kicking a field goal is an obvious attempt to run up the score. At least when they "go for it" Washington has more of a chance to play for pride and stop them.

I was in a bar that was showing a Patriots game and there was a guy wearing a "Belichick for President" t-shirt. I don't really have an opinion of him and the Patriots one way or the other, but I thought the shirt was funny.

Winning three of four super bowls as the Cowboys did? Not a bad goal for this team if you ask me. Even the 49ers didn't do that.

It's not the winning part. Did you notice that the Boys were on EVERY team's hit afterward?

Imagine the Lakers being up by 30 points and Kobe doing 360, alley-oop dunks in the end of the 4th qtr. It's not pleasant or necessary. There's no rule, it's just being gentlemen.

No question as to what Belichick should have done on the 4th downs...punt or kick a fg.

And as to the comment saying the Pats would be as good w/out Moss, have you watched any of the games? The man is a beast, catching everything that is thrown up in the air. Don't think they could do that with a Troy Brown.

Did any of them call a fake spike stop the clock touchdown pass play up 24-0? Hey Brady ... be your own man, get some cojones, and tell the coach that isn't right. Exactly which game did Belichick come up with the "we're calling a timeout JUST before the snap to fark with the kicker". Be a man ... you have the talent to beat a team 6 ways to Sunday, why pull this bush league crap?
this was a 2nd quarter, wtf man!

if u are worries that highly paid atheletes will feel bad about losing by 40 or by 30, then you shouldn't watch sports

if u really want fair sportmanship and so that noone gets hurt, have a little league baseball rule , if 1 of them up by 10 runs, game is called

make it 30 for football?
