The *official* "Screw you Bill Belichick, get the hell out of my favorite sport, you're ruining the game" thread about the lack any New England Patriots sportsmanship (Now w/ POLL)

24,860 1,948 October 28, 2007 at 05:44 PM in Rant
Quick open letter to the head coach of the Patriots:

Dear Mr. Bill,

You're the head coach of the best team in football, congratulations on your tremendous efforts. Now fark off and leave the sport to those that do not just consider it simply a business because you're sucking the fun out of the game and ruining this sport for not only fans of the teams you embarass, but kids that are learning about something you seem to totally lack: sportsmanship.

Its easier to explain Janet Jackson's floppy booby during a wardrobe malfunction than the planned and continued deliberate actions taken by the players under your direction. Sure its your job to win games, are you not good enough to do it without constantly skirting the rules, using deception and just out and out farking cheating? You're a dirty, unkempt, embarassment to the game.

Get the hell out of the sport.

Sincerely,
- Fans of the NFL and the ultimate purveyors of your salary
Against which team would Tom Brady most likely suffer a career-ending injury?

New poll should be "Will the Patriots ever win another Super Bowl with Bill Belichick as head coach?"

Rammy,

Point taken. Thing is, I love when this shit happens in sports. To me, it's akin to what Jordan did, or Tiger does, or to some extent what Federer does, or insert/disagree with my examples. I find it fascinating to have a person/team play just at this type of level (e.g. NFL, PGA, NBA, etc.) and just fundamentally, at least to all appearances, to be playing a different game than everyone else. Sometimes kicking someone in the teeth when they are laying bleeding in front of you sends a message...no?

More interesting scores for ya all....SuperBowls nonetheless(where there should be the most class right) ....nod

1986-Chicago (NFC) 46, New England (AFC) 10 (ironic huh)
1988-Washington (NFC) 42, Denver (AFC) 10 (shame on you redskinsRoll Eyes (Sarcastic) )
1990-San Francisco (NFC) 55, Denver (AFC) 10(go san fran...got to love that score)
1993-Dallas (NFC) 52, Buffalo (AFC) 17 (buffalo was sooo close)

I remember watching that SuperBowl in 1986. Did we cry? Did we say how wrong it was of them to "Showboat"shake head
We took off our "Bury the Bears" tees and moved on. We knew it was only a game.

I do find it funny that with all these games including my other post, people still ignore the fact that ALL( yes I said ALL) teams have done the same at one time or another.
So they didn't go for it on a 4th and 1, OMG they were soo much better. But I have yet to see one person reply to the fact that what all these other teams did was not ok either.
I have no problem if your going to hate on teams, but please at least be consistent and hate on ALL similar teams.

Amazing how being a Boston fan, we always have to stick up for our teams when were winning, while others are whinning. Yet you never see a true Boston fan whine about what other teams are doing when we're were losing. And YES for many years we lost, and lost bad in many sports.

Belicheck went for a fourth-and-2 at the Redskins' 37 on the next possession while leading 45-0. Backup QB Matt Cassel hit Jabar Gaffney with a 21-yard pass. Two plays later, Cassel scrambled for a 15-yard touchdown run to open up a 52-0 lead.

last time backup played he threw pass which got picked off and returned for td, rumors were that he will get cut after that.

so, forgive me, for bill giving the guy 2nd chance to gain some confidence when the game was out of hand

psssst.... here's another reason why women belong in the kitchen: they make up broad assumptions and quote shit that only stand to confuse more intelligent sports fans. Super Bowl XXII the Redskins (lead by Gibbs) called off the dogs at the half after Doug Williams had thrown 4 TDs in the 2nd quarter. The last TD of the half was a INT return making it 35-10 btw.

The only running done in the 2nd half was the Redskins running out the clock with 28 run plays and vs. 4 pass plays. (~15 run plays and 24 pass plays in the 1st half ... I'm pretty sure they could have dropped 60 without breaking a sweat if they had kept passing)

Haha seriously quit whining about NE running up the score. NE, Belichick, & Brady are slimy that's for sure, but this is professional sports here. Even the losers are getting paid many thousands of dollars to play that one game they get whooped in. Buffalo once lost a game it was up by 35 in the 4th quarter - I'm sure they were saying things like "oh we're up by so much, it doesn't matter if we slack off & let them score here". In professional sports, you put your foot on their throat until the clock runs out, just like someone will do to them at some point this year or next.
So in other words you're saying that sportsmanship has no place in the NFL?

Sportsmanship should have a place in NFL, but shouldn't competitive football also have a place? These Patriot rompings occurring this season are just bringing NFL owners to realize that they need to do a better job of getting players. I could understand how in the MLB people could be mad about great teams bullying on poor teams, because there is no salary cap and no limit on how many great players a team can have. But in the NFL with it's salary caps, everyone should be on an equal playing field (excuse the pun).

Compare it to any corporation. Company A and B both make mediocre products, but customers are forced to buy one or the other, because it's a necessity. Then Company C comes along with a great product and blow Companies A and B out of the water. Do people complain about Company C showing no ethics? Of course not. Company C only forces Companies A and B to make a greater product or get the hell out of the business.

I see this over and over on these threads and its quite annoying.

Why do people dissect and criticize other's grammar, spelling etc?

Does anyone think this adds to the discussion?

Some people aren't english majors...get over it. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

[quick,reply with a smart-aleck remark]
How about a slow paced smart-aleck remark. You dissected and criticized that post so why can't others do it? Dontknow

Get over it nod

Unfortunately you didn't post the facts, just the score: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=8499384&postcount=108

I am nothing if not consistent. I hate poor sportsmanship and right now Belichick is the poster child. You guys have gotten away from the original point in the OP which was not about running up the score, it was how it was done. Belichick is a classless buffon who deserves honorable mention for the Hall of Shame.

As far as claims as "other teams have run up the score" Crying What are you? 4? If the other teams jumped off a bridge, would you? Apparently y'all missed out on the important life's lesson that "just because other people do it doesn't make it right".

Maybe it's the opposite where I livelaugh out loud
For example, on of my school mates just made a group on facebook called "Red Sox rule!!!" and about 30 kids join and post shit like "Red Sox are the best!" "We're going to the playoffs" and "Yankees suck" Yet I don't think I've seen one of them wearing a Red Sox jersey or hat to school.
I don't own one piece of red sox clothing. All of my sports clothing is Boston Bruins clothing. However, I have always supported my sox since I was little.
