I didn't realize you can post things like this in The Lounge.... Which car should I get (or which cars should I definitely take off my long list)?

I know I am all over the place with my current options, but I'm looking to get a new car in a couple months and I can't seem to focus.

In no specific order:

  1. Lincoln MKZ - I was initially thinking of the Hybrid initially, but plugging in my car (and remembering to do so) seems like too much trouble. laugh out loud
  2. Cadillac ATS - 0% financing for up to 72 months is very attractive, but that might end at the end of April
  3. Volvo S60 - the first brand new car I ever got was a Volvo (many, many years ago)
  4. Lexus ISC - everyone needs a convertible, no?
  5. Mercedes CLA250
  6. Mercedes C250
  7. BMW 328i - I believe this is mandatory on all car lists. Dontknow
  8. Lexus ES350

To prove how all over the place I am (and was), I even considered looking at the 2015 Hyundai Genesis for maybe 10 minutes. Roll

Updated list:

2014 BMW 328i Sedan
2014 Mercedes-Benz C250 C250 Luxury Sedan
2014 Audi A4 4dr Sdn Auto quattro 2.0T Premium
2014 Volvo S60 4dr Sdn T5 Premier AWD
2014 Cadillac ATS 2.0L I4 AWD
2014 Infiniti Q50 AWD (just because MLV feels I've short changed Infinitis and I should give them a shot)

Honorable mention:
2014 Lincoln MKZ 4dr Sdn AWD

save a few grand by going certified pre-owned, which carry manufacturer warranties just like new cars.

ftfy

IIRC BMW CPO cars have a $50 deductible...and I don't know if it covers all items that the new car warranty covers (for example, an emblem that had to be replaced on ours was covered under the original warranty, don't know if it would have been covered by the CPO program).

do people really care about their car badges that much that a manuf warranty will cover it? I have de-badged my last 2 cars. a cleaner look IMO.

It would, but will the 2014 Infiniti Q50 AWD have enough bells and whistles or will I need to upgrade to the Premium to get what I need?

I desire remote start, nav, at least heated seats, blindspot monitoring, premium stereo etc.

Very good point and although I agree that I fully agree that should, I don't know if I can since I've driven used cars for many years and now that I can afford new ones, I don't know if I can go back. Plus normally CPOs don't get the same financing options as new cars and that can sometimes be worth the couple grand.

I think you'd need the Premium package, plus Navigation. Will be less than BMW, Mercedes, or Audi for the equipment you'll get.

I'm looking at new leftover G37s...might see if I can get a deal on a 2013 new - there are quite a few of those. That's what I did with my Acura TL (bought a new 2006 in late 2006, after the 2007s were out). If I get one, it would have to be about what I could sell it on my own, like under $30k. Not sure that will happen w/Premium and Nav, but I might try.
