My own "new" car thread! :whee: Decision made! Post #112 (Acura TSX V6)

I'm thinking about selling my '06 Acura TL. It will be a sad day whenever I do...bought it new and I've loved it.
I'm planning on driving the new '15 Acura TLX the day it's available for test drives locally, on Memorial Day. But I doubt I'll fall in love with the TLX, at least not enough to buy one new. More likely, I'm looking for something in the $20k-$30k price range.
I've been considering an Infiniti G37, 2011-2013 model year range. There are quite a few new '13s left (they didn't make the '14, getting ready for the new "Q" lineup). I saw a 2010 Genesis Coupe, which I've always kind of liked as far as style. Has anyone hear driven one? Some reviews compare it to the G as far as performance. Never thought I'd consider a Hyundai, but I am. I'm also test driving a Volvo S80 after work, but I expect that will be too sedate for my liking, as well as not quite enough power.
Thoughts?

If they were white guys they would all be Gerald Ford.
Looking at images now.
Would you get it with nostrils, or without?

They did the same thing with SUVs since they became the new fad after minivans. When they first started becoming popular every manufacturer had their own unique design. Some were tall and boxy, some were lower, some were rounder, longer and shorter. Now it looks like they all used the same results from a single focus group and just about every SUV has the same basic silhouette. The majority of the cars have been the same way for several years now. The same basic shape with a few different body lines and accent plastic added in a feeble attempt at looking different.

On a serious note, these are fairly distinctive looking:

Seems the issue is Honda and Toyota are bland, and mainstream cars by other manufacturers that try to Xerox them also come off as bland. No surprise there. But there are still distinctive styles available, just don't look for your average 5 seater econo family hauler to be distinctive.

Pontiac Aztek FTW!!!
A few people who didn't know how to drive also sealed the fate of the Jeep CJ series in favor of the uglier, wider, and less maneuverable Wrangler. Yet there are still millions of CJs running around that have never been rolled.
The Samurais were also fine if driven within their limits and they are amazing off-road vehicles.

The Chrysler 300 does break out of the mold as far as the typical sedan. In fact Chrysler has had some of the best looking cars in recent years. Unfortunately they are still Chrysler products.
I just hate that vehicles in any given category can start off with a unique look and over the course of a few model design changes they all seem to morph into clones of each other.
