I lost my Baby. Here he is not long after his birth:

Here he is the day he died:

I held him within the first few minutes he was born and held him as he took his last few breaths of life. I watched with great intrigue and pride at how quickly he learned to do things - particularly great escapes - and his antics gave me a lot of laughter over the years. Finzzy can tell you, though the life may be small the pain is great.

My heart is in a million pieces. He'd been to the vet twice but old age and an infection finally took their toll. He didn't go quietly or easily into that good night but hung on and fought...

Matthew leaves behind a mate and ten children (one juvenile delinquent and nine babies born just this past week.) They will never know their Dad. Frown

Okay, but would you want them to live as long as parrots? You'd be in your 80's with Dude biting your socks.

Nick pulled a Pet Semetary.
Yea and they get pretty ornery when they're old too, and nobody wants them. I got mine when I was 24 and am hoping to outlive him, lol.

He pulled a Pet Semetary. I'll have to post pics. He was lukewarm and laying on his side and having trouble breathing and hours passed like that with him in my lap. They usually pass within an hour like that.

Finally I had to sleep so I put him in the tank and nudged him towards his brother for sleep, right? Fully expected him to be gone when I awoke but no! Alive and seems okay but constantly biting. Now he's back to sleeping alone in the corner. Frown

He's really old and has tummy tumors so... Dontknow I've just never not been around when one of my animals passes away. They are always in my lap to ease the convulsions from heart attacks.
oh wow.. glad he is back with you..sorry he is feeling cranky and biting. How is his brother taking it?

My little mouse Wolf did that too! He had been sick and passed away in my hands while I was holding him. I was sitting there crying (he was a really cool mouse, he would bow when I'd walk into the room and everything) and then some time passed and all of the sudden he hopped out of my hands. I was like "wtf"...I mean I was happy but it was so weird. Then he lived another 8 months or so.

So we slept all day (I'm still recovering from a car accident). I checked on the boys and they were fine. A little while ago we all got up and they went to the food area. I heard loud noises and went over. I got him into my arms just in time.

He had fluid coming out of his nose and mouth which isn't normal when they pass so I think he had a seizure. Frown His brother sniffed him really good - they don't usually care with such a good sense of smell - then resigned himself. Sadwalk

Now in a Ziploc in the freezer. I like to bury my people at night.

You know me, sleeping with a glass aquarium tank in my bed is nothing new. I'm not ready to disturb the scent of his tank just yet.

Stop looking at me like that! I know you've slept with Dude under your bed!
