Received a call from them today and offered me this promotion, I declined and then they offered me 3 months for the price of 1 month. I still declined since I have 3 free months and I usually use Pandora.

years ago, i heard it's a long, painful process to cancel service with Sirius XM. is this still true these days?

i'm interested to sign up for this promo, but will not do so if canceling is still a nightmare.

It is a bit of a pain, but when you call you immediately request to speak with the cancellation department. I do this every 5 months so I can get the 5 months for $25 deal. They'll give you whatever deal they can to keep you. I figure 10 minutes dealing with the language barrier is worth saving some money.

The one thing that keeps me from doing this is the "auto renew" thing. I just don't want to deal with that. I think they'd make a lot more money if they didn't do that scammy crap.

It just took me 45 minutes, however I was able to get the 24.99 promotion added onto the trial subscription in my new car. I asked for the 19.99 promo to which they reluctantly agreed only when I said if they could not honor the promotion, I would just let it turn off. The total came out to $28.09 which included "fees and taxes". Basically its the $24.99 subscription listed above. For the $5 difference, I wasn't going to further argue. Thanks OP and repped!

if your a Howard Stern listener, none of these promos apply. Also if you use the Sirius XM app or want to use on your PC there is a separate fee for that. Lame.

1st time I did the OnLine Chat & it worked easily.

now that those 5 months are up, online chat said "no".

on phone now - getting bounced to 2nd dept - we'll see how this goes........

update - asked for Cancellation Desk - they offered 12month for $89+ taxes/fees.

I love Sirius XM. Right now I'm in a free 3 month trial but I will try the "I want to cancel" trick after that's up. People will pay $150/month for TV/Internet/Phone and the TV channels have ads but they won't pay $15/month for commercial free streaming & car radio with hundreds of channels.

SiriusXM sells your info to the scammers who call about extended warranties on your car.

Yes they do. Never got those calls until I signed up with Sirius. It's really not that great anyway.
