This is the new MCR contests/giveaways thread. There are going to be a few new rules starting with this iteration of the thread. Nothing too drastic, I hope, and I hope that this helps to alleviate some of the concerns that have been expressed by quite a few users. We're not etched in stone here, and we can adapt as necessary, but I think this will be a good start.

1). While off topic posts will be allowed, please try to keep conversations related to the MCR program. This is the Lounge, and there are plenty of places for all kinds of off topic posts.Rules are subject to change with or without notice, on a whim, or with discussion.
2). The Barter Thread is still in Deal Talk. For trading MCR codes with any other codes (either MCR or TYS or otherwise), please confine trades to the appropriate thread. This is not so much to keep this thread clean as to provide a place where feedback of users who have traded and bartering info/partners can be found more easily. That kind of info can easily be lost in this fast paced thread, especially once an iteration or two have gone by.
3). The strictly on-topic MCR Discussion Thread will remain in Deal Talk for the time being.
4). Due to server loading issues, once the thread reaches 10,000 posts it will be restarted with this OP and the thread Wiki. A link to the new thread will be in the last post of this thread so that you can still visit it for archival purposes.
5). In an effort to cut down on what has been identified as the most irritating of contests, for the time being there will be a moratorium on the "guess" type contests. Contests that involve some kind of skill or researching are fine, but contests that are purely speculative in nature will not be allowed for the time being. A couple examples include "Guess what I had for lunch today," or "Guess the year make and model of my first car."
6). Have fun. Seriously. If this thread wasn't fun, it wouldn't be so popular. So have fun.

why trade caps for flaps and vice versa?
Some people can only enter in a few codes a day (some even less), so it makes sense for them to trade away their flaps so that they'll maximize their... umm... pointage (15 points in caps is better than a single 10-point flap).
For the other people, who have caps to spare and can enter in 10 caps a day every day, it makes sense to them to, again, maximize their pointage, by entering in 10-point flaps instead of 3-point caps.
If the trade ratio isn't too one-sided, both parties benefit greatly from trading this way.

Ask Hank feature on the MCR site -- several are reporting errors when trying to use this function: If you receive an error, edit your email, and remove all question marks, quotation marks, semicolons, colons, and symbols, basically anything that is not a letter, number, period, or comma. Little known fact (only verified for 15-digit codes): MCR Code consists of 3 groups of 5 symbols (obvious.) Name these groups A (Top Group), B (Center Group) and C (Bottom Group.) These groups can be entered ABC (which is what people usually do,) or CBA. The other four combinations (ACB, BAC, BCA, CAB) do not work and will come up as invalid.- Is there a faster way to enter codes?

- Why do people trade caps for flaps?
Maximum of 10 codes can be entered per day staring at noon EST. Those with an abundance of caps (worth 3 points) trade for flaps (worth 10 points) so they can get 100 points a day as opposed to 30.

Why would I go through this much trouble publicly if I wasn't telling the truth? Why would I go through all the trouble to call MCR? Like I said before, call them yourself if you think I am making this up and cheating you. You said before for me to name a final number and you would make it right, and I did. It is 460 points. That is what I believe is fair. For me, getting 460 points is like getting half of what I lost as I made this trade to acquire 12 pack flaps for double points. I am willing to sacrifice the double points, and all the reasons I made the trade in the first place. It is up to you now. If you only want to pay 230 points, that is your choice. I can't force you to do anything.

My only issue is by his own words he is admitting I gave him all unused good codes he is claiming that the months of December thru end of April the codes where good and he had been checking them in his 1st email to me he accused me of 5 months after the fact of going back and using them not only does that not make sense but how long is a trading partner responsible for the codes they where good for 4 months after I traded him I'm not at his house how do I know what he did with the codes is it more likely that something happened on his end than mine . I do tons of trades I'm not going to go back into trades 4 months old and check if I can use some of the codes that would ruin my reputation and just me a waste of my time since 99 percent of people enter the codes right away . My issue has always been with his attitude and they way he posted on the message board without even giving me a chance to answer when I had been so generous to him just the week before

1. Gizmo continues to imply I have done something wrong or somehow the codes were stolen from my end. This is almost impossible, and I have gone out of my way to establish the fact that I did not use these codes and had taken every precaution to ensure their integrity from my end. They have been sitting in a spreadsheet and checked at random since our trade. I can understand if he feels I should have used them sooner, and he is entitled to that opinion, but there is pretty much zero chance these codes were stolen from me due to any actions in how I handled them. MPython, you hit on the point I have been trying to make to Gizmo: It is most likely these codes were taken from me due to how they were acquired or disposed of by the trader.
2. I personally don't feel 4 months is too long to expect codes to be good especially when you are trading 1,000 MCR points. With one MCR account, it would take a minimum of 3 months just to enter all those points with the weekly maximum.
3. Gizmo has only reimbursed half the points I lost so I personally do not feel he has made the trade right. Especially considering I was counting on these codes doubling and that was the purpose and motivation for the trade. I actually traded for less points just to get codes that would double. I personally feel I lost around a potential for 600-800 MCR points from those 46 Coke 12-pack flaps, and Gizmo reimbursed me only 230 points.

It more unlikely that someone took these out of my trash that I put out the day the trash goes out then drove 5 states away from me and then waited over 4 months before they entered them . plus no one else has come forward saying there codes came up used like you did so not only did the garbage thief take points he only took yours and no one elses before he drove 5 states away to enter them I think you most likely used them then forgot you did . So on my side of things I lost 230 extra points to you . The bonus thing is so far from my problem and doesn't make sense anyways since I never specified the brand to you and like people have said why would you skip over all those other double points days and 4 months is a long time even if you have only 1 account maybe you should not trade for such high amounts if it takes you so long to enter them
