-~~* My Coke Rewards *~~- Outdated Information & Chat Thread - Keep On Topic Posts Limited!

31,979 3,053 July 18, 2007 at 09:12 PM
This is the new MCR contests/giveaways thread. There are going to be a few new rules starting with this iteration of the thread. Nothing too drastic, I hope, and I hope that this helps to alleviate some of the concerns that have been expressed by quite a few users. We're not etched in stone here, and we can adapt as necessary, but I think this will be a good start.

First and foremost, as you can see this thread is now in the Lounge. Click here to stick this thread to the top. To unstick it, simply click on the 'Thread Tools' link in the upper right of this thread, and select the option to unstick the thread.

Now, on to the rules:
1). While off topic posts will be allowed, please try to keep conversations related to the MCR program. This is the Lounge, and there are plenty of places for all kinds of off topic posts.

2). The Barter Thread is still in Deal Talk. For trading MCR codes with any other codes (either MCR or TYS or otherwise), please confine trades to the appropriate thread. This is not so much to keep this thread clean as to provide a place where feedback of users who have traded and bartering info/partners can be found more easily. That kind of info can easily be lost in this fast paced thread, especially once an iteration or two have gone by.

3). The strictly on-topic MCR Discussion Thread will remain in Deal Talk for the time being.

4). Due to server loading issues, once the thread reaches 10,000 posts it will be restarted with this OP and the thread Wiki. A link to the new thread will be in the last post of this thread so that you can still visit it for archival purposes.

5). In an effort to cut down on what has been identified as the most irritating of contests, for the time being there will be a moratorium on the "guess" type contests. Contests that involve some kind of skill or researching are fine, but contests that are purely speculative in nature will not be allowed for the time being. A couple examples include "Guess what I had for lunch today," or "Guess the year make and model of my first car."

6). Have fun. Seriously. If this thread wasn't fun, it wouldn't be so popular. So have fun. Smilie
Rules are subject to change with or without notice, on a whim, or with discussion.

My Coke Rewards (MCR) FAQ:

- How can I contact them?
Phone: 1-866-776-6610
email address: [email protected]
Ask Hank feature on the MCR site -- several are reporting errors when trying to use this function: If you receive an error, edit your email, and remove all question marks, quotation marks, semicolons, colons, and symbols, basically anything that is not a letter, number, period, or comma. (I didn't say it makes sense, but strangely, I have had much success after doing this.)
- When does the promotion end?
Per http://www.mycokerewards.com/MCRRules.do:

The current phase of the Program begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on January 1, 2014 and is scheduled to end at 11:59 p.m. ET on December 31, 2014 (the "Redemption Period"), but Sponsor reserves the right to shorten, extend, suspend, modify, or cancel the Program, at its discretion, at any time. Codes may be entered beginning at 12:00 a.m. ET on January 1, 2014 until 11:59 p.m. ET on November 30, 2014 (the "Collection Period"), and participants will be able to redeem points at any time during the Redemption Period as set forth in Section G below. Participants can collect points by the methods set forth in Section F below. All points collected during previous phases of the Program are carried over into the current phase as of January 1, 2014, but Sponsor reserves the right to expire points from previous phases upon reasonable notice to Participant.
- Where are the codes located and what are the associated point values?
Participating Products:

At the top of the MCR home page, click "Tell a Friend" and follow the instructions. Every time you refer someone and he/she accumulates 50 points, you get 10 bonus points. These do not count toward your daily limit.
- When is the next Double Points Day?
The last one was Jan 4th 2008. NO ONE knows when/if there will be another. Feel free to sign up at this google group created by nyct to be emailed when Double Point Day information is available.

Little known fact (only verified for 15-digit codes): MCR Code consists of 3 groups of 5 symbols (obvious.) Name these groups A (Top Group), B (Center Group) and C (Bottom Group.) These groups can be entered ABC (which is what people usually do,) or CBA. The other four combinations (ACB, BAC, BCA, CAB) do not work and will come up as invalid.
- Is there a faster way to enter codes?
Try the Yahoo! MCR Code Widget. Find the widget download by clicking on the "take a tour" link on the MCR homepage and then in the lower left corner look for "Quick Entry Widget" or try this link...Yahoo! MCR Code Entry Widget
MCR for MCR trades: Users who trade their caps for your flaps (usually 5:1 rate)

Trading Etiquette 101

- Why do people trade caps for flaps?
Maximum of 10 codes can be entered per day staring at noon EST. Those with an abundance of caps (worth 3 points) trade for flaps (worth 10 points) so they can get 100 points a day as opposed to 30.

why trade caps for flaps and vice versa?

Some people can only enter in a few codes a day (some even less), so it makes sense for them to trade away their flaps so that they'll maximize their... umm... pointage (15 points in caps is better than a single 10-point flap).

For the other people, who have caps to spare and can enter in 10 caps a day every day, it makes sense to them to, again, maximize their pointage, by entering in 10-point flaps instead of 3-point caps.

If the trade ratio isn't too one-sided, both parties benefit greatly from trading this way.

That's because Shutterfly is like late night infomercials. Shipping costs more than the value of the product you get. I honestly can't imagine how they stay in business with their shipping prices. And not that I check often, but I have never seen them have any free shipping deals even ONCE. Most online places at least occasionally offer free shipping on everything.
We get our holiday cards every year from Shutterfly and also order calendars for our parents (with pictures of the kids from each month) and we get free shipping every holiday season...

With no minimum? That is what I mean. I think they have free shipping on $50. But I've enver seen it for any lower...certainly not for any value that MCR ever gives coupons for.

But again, I don't exactly check all the time so I definitely could miss some. I would think though that if they ever di offer no-minimum free shipping...or even $20 free shipping..that people wouldn't be so mad at getting them for free in the IW game.

I think they had it for $20/25 this holiday season...there prices aren't too bad so if you spend $25ish this season, use your code from coke and use the free shipping, you're paying $5...and they always do a really nice job with their stuff...I get the free books all the time and you pay like $7 s/h for a free book...local walmart type places do the books around the same price as well but are usually pretty crappy quality compared to these.

They used to have free shipping at $29 orders last year and then it bumped to $39 this year. The $29 was not that hard to hit and combined with other promos, there were lots of good deals to be had. The past couple of years (Nov/Dec), there have been free shipping promos from various retailers that work on any order. Lots of codes are posted around the SD forums. Shutterfly is less expensive than other companies on many items, but you have to be a regular customer and know how the promos work and where they come from to get the best deals. Otherwise, save time and order from Target/Walmart/Costco/Walgreens/etc.

How do you get free shipping? Because you order from it regularly?

The only time I saw free shipping was from Kellogg a couple months ago.
Must be...I know they had a sitewide free shipping this year for $39. But I think we were lower than that via email code that we had (I guess since we order quite a bit from them)...

I was also able to stack codes pretty easily this year...I was able to use 2 free calendar codes (Kelloggs & Safeway), $20 MCR, their 40% off code for Black Friday and the Free Shipping...

Hi all - Would anyone be interested in trading a 8x8 photo book code (200 pts) for a Coke t-shirt? See the pic (yes the shirt is new and I could have it shipped directly to you). PM me if interested. Let me know if this should be posted elsewhere.

Shutterfly, Snapfish… the deals are all the same. You pay full price for the product and get free shipping, or get the product free and pay the same amount in Shipping.

I would actaully use the service more if I didn't need to hunt for codes every time I wanted to have something printed. But I guess there are suckers that don't realize this

Hi all - Would anyone be interested in trading a 8x8 photo book code (200 pts) for a Coke t-shirt? See the pic (yes the shirt is new and I could have it shipped directly to you). PM me if interested. Let me know if this should be posted elsewhere.
