I'd been dealing with a terribly under-powered hand mixer for too many years. Saw one like this at Sam's Club back in October for about $300 and told her, "That's what I want for Christmas, dear." Found a slick deal on it a few weeks later, this 475-watt monster for only $250! OMG She jumped all over it. She is slowly becoming wise in the ways of the slick deal. laugh out loud

Hello all!

So glad christmas is done. I spent too much time running everywhere and didn't get to relax. Hopefully I can relax this weekend.

I actually haven't had much work to do today. There are only 3 people in the entire office, and the rest of my team is out on vacation. I just came in today because the MIL was in town.

Mrs. Frog took a break from a very busy pet-sitting day to have a BBQ lunch with me at Old Hickory House. When we returned, she stayed on the couch for most of an hour to get some rest, while I ran to NAPA auto parts for an air filter, and to South Carolina for some $1.99/gallon gasoline. EEK!

Phew!! I've been playing F1 with the Caddy this afternoon. It was "begin the beautification under the hood" day. I used a wire brush and my drill to clean the old paint, dirt, and crud off the oil filter cover, then spray painted it with glossy black enamel. Then I moved on to the oil-filled air filter. It was QUITE the big innovation back in 1955, but it gets dirty ridiculously quickly, and is highly restrictive of air flow. Fortunately, it pulls right out and a NAPA Gold paper air filter fits perfectly. But first, I had to sop up and wipe out all of the old, ancient oil in the air cleaner housing. Twelve to fourteen paper towels later and it was reasonably clean. Some brake parts cleaner and another few paper towels made it ridiculously clean. Once the old oil was gone, the wire brush and drill cleaned off the crud from the bottom of the air cleaner housing, and more black enamel went on. The only problem with this enamel is it requires thirty minutes drying time, and two to three hours to fully cure. But it damned sure looks pretty when it's dried and glossy.

Tomorrow, I get to clean and paint the top of the air filter housing (it's really in need) and the power steering reservoir cover.
