Looking at the other torches 20 something seems to be the regular price for a tool like this.

I'm very tempted to buy it, but not sure I wanna go budget minded on my flamethrower. Seems like there's a lot of of ways that could go wrong. Doesn't mean I won't buy it though.

Last time I checked, sous vide didn't require a torch...

Over a year ago, I paid $20 for mine. I use it 2-3 times a month. It works great, and I have never had a problem. No safety problems either.

Unfortunately, it is no longer being sold on Amazon, or I would recommend it.

Has anyone really paid $80 for it? I bought one for less a bit over a year ago. One of the longer ones for burning weeds and melting ice. Not sure why this would be so much more.

I agree. Not long ago, they posted a deal for a similar torch for $21 or so. I was ready to jump on it until I saw that this is the typical price for these torches.
