Chewy! My interim dream TV is on sale again locally for an obnoxiously low price! Man, I wish I had money right about now.

I ran out of my habanero hot sauce, so I picked up a new interesting-looking bottle of Scotch Bonnet sauce. Didn't know much about them, figured it looked alright, threw it in the cart, and here I am.

So, I'm actually pretty disappointed. This isn't as spicy as I was hoping. Scotch Bonnets are supposed to be up there with habaneros, but this is literally almost like slightly spicy vinegar and tomato sauce. If I put as much of my old habanero sauce on my CFA sandwich as I did this scotch bonnet sauce, I'd be regretting every minute of it. But this is child's play. Maybe on par with Taco Bell fire sauce. No clue how it has such high ratings on Amazon.

Dudes on YouTube are freaking out about it, though. All I can think of is that 1) the CFA sandwich has some weird anti-spicy properties and 2) I was eating a bunch of habanero salsa earlier, so maybe I've desensitized my mouth for a little while.

That's really disappointing. Scotch Bonnets are practically the same as Habaneros, usually. Somebody must have picked that bunch long before they were ripe.
Speaking of which, have you tried Melinda's XXX habanero sauce [hotsaucezone.com]?

I was actually a little afraid, to be honest. I like spicy stuff, but that last hot sauce I had really caught me off guard. So I was being cautious with this because while I can take some heat, I wouldn't necessarily go putting ghost pepper sauce in my stuff (save for some tasty tortilla chips)... But I can pour a big load of it on my sandwich and all is good. Oh, well. It's kind of tasty, but not as spicy as I was hoping, I think.

I've always enjoyed Melinda's habanero sauces, but it appears they have many more varieties [hotsauce.com] these days.
