From the iota I know about you, finding a job should not be very difficult. Finding one with a minimal amount of lunkheads, maybe. But not just finding one.
Thank you, sir.

My first challenge is my age (57) and then my salary requirement, which is honestly flexible. I've rarely encountered any software challenge I couldn't accomplish, and I pick up and learn and then run with any kind of technology in a matter of days (not weeks or months.) Trying to convince others of that ability is a huge challenge, mostly because they're generally skeptical (and often ignorant.) My previous group lead threw a Java project at me after months of no assignments. Despite never having coded in Java or using the Eclipse IDE before, I assembled a J2EE / SOAP / Tuxedo application, writing two Java code generators in the process. Those generators took an XML file defining some 200 Tuxedo services and automagically generated JPanel GUI objects for the Tuxedo request and response for all of the services. The project required about two months total, with very minimal assistance from my co-worker who is an absolute Java/J2EE wizard. For comparison, the previous program that performed this function required a team of six developers and more than six months. Needless to say, my group leader at the time was somewhat amazed. Maybe I should put him on my resume as a reference? laugh out loud

Gyro platter for lunch here. Raining all day long, thankfully not too hard.

I'm getting that next time.

Roll

I spit out my coffee when I read that. Very clever. High Five

I woke up at 5am yesterday and couldn't go back to sleep. Watched TV and packed up my stuff until about 11 and then met VF for a yummy lunch. Then I drove home and slept for 9 hours straight. I can't remember the last time I got 9 hours of sleep.

Proud of my oldest son who had to take matters in to his own hands when he discovered one of the chickens had swollen head syndrome [thepoultrysite.com]. I know what you're thinking. "What are the chances anything on the Chewy compound would have a swollen head?" I know.....crazy right? Almost impossible even, but it happened. Eventually the disease will turn in to E.coli and spread to the other chickens. The oldest quickly dispatched the chicken painlessly (I hope). Had I been home I would have done it myself, but he did what he had to in order to protect the other chicken and, eventually, us.

In the rain, and the parking lot was 100% full. Today is a much nicer day, thankfully. It's really a shame I slept like a zombie until 11 am today. Haven't done that in many years, and it felt wonderful. I think Mrs. Frog laced the cheese slices with something, honestly.

I had leftover cabbage and put together a pigs in the blanket-style soup in the crock pot, so by 8 am the dogs were smelling it and had me awake laugh out loud
