When I get it at the drive-thru on my way to work, it's usually extremely fresh. They brew and serve a LOT of coffee all morning long. Never had any scent of seasonings from them, though.

One of the other benefits of just having a little coffee pot at my desk, no more "seriously, what the fark is wrong with you assholes that you can't make another pot of coffee?" when I get to the break room.

So you guys are experienced developers. If you received a development request that said "if you punch in https://xyz.com/hrdocument.xls then anyone can access an internal document. I need that document removed from public access." What would you do? What would you expect your QA to find when he went to that address after you made your change?

Nope. I'd expect the IT web admins to review the webserver logs. Then I'd make certain they removed that directory from the list of published web directories. Idiots.

How long before the safety committee walks by and says "You can't have that at your desk. It's a fire hazard!!" ?!?

I expect I'd just delete the file, and QA should get a 404 when they try to access it. Then I'd probably tell them to find out who requested it be added so they can be properly chastised for their idiocy, and try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

It's been here for... well over a year, at least. One of the benefits of being in a low-traffic area, perhaps.

I don't know that we have a safety committee laugh out loud

Rofl2

So, just in case Autozone decides to give me a hassle about swapping my battery under warranty, I figured I'd see what I'd be spending on Amazon to get a replacement. I searched for "miata battery." Then I saw the related searches...

In this case, the dev simply did a redirect to a page that just contains just html code. When I asked him why I wasn't getting a 404 error and why he didn't put in a deployment request to have the file removed from the directory he simply told me that he satisfied the requirements and doesn't know what I'm talking about. "I don't know" is the most common response I get from him.

Iagree The guy is greener than I am, but he is probably smarter than me. However, he lacks the ability to see the simplest solution first.

Just noticed the discount I negotiated on my internet connection at home expired. Maybe I'll try doing it online instead of on the phone this time. It probably helps that I'm serious about just cancelling and going to the other option in town if they won't play ball.
