Well, got nowhere with the online chat, I'll have to call them to explain why what they're trying to do is bullshit, and make some vague threats about contacting my state attorney general and see if they play ball.
My credit union is being less than 100% supportive in my radio ordeal, but they are being understanding and helpful. It's not likely I'll see any satisfaction from the merchant. They've shown themselves to be dishonest and unreliable, and they simply don't care once they grabbed my money. I'll probably send the radio to another regional service that's more straightforward and honest about their business.

Good luck with that. These days, it's all about grabbing as much $$$ as they can.
Well, the rate they want for 24 megs is higher than the cable company wants for 60 megs, and I imagine even during heavy usage periods I'd still see over the 12 I get currently, so my threats to switch won't be empty threats. The Dish people didn't get serious about offering me a good deal until I told them they can schedule the cancellation for the following business day.

And the other annoyance is the FAIL that these phone and online customer service systems present, in that they force me to enter my account information, and then repeat that same account information to the CSR.

I'm trying to figure out why I was sleep walking last night for half an hour. I have no idea what I did or why it would even happen. I'm not stressed about anything.

That is absolute bullshit. It's almost annoying as Verizon having a "remember me" option. It doesn't matter what you do. Every time you click on an option you have to re-enter your login details despite it having "Hey Chewspam" at the top of the screen whenever I go to their website.

I get annoyed with the dell enterprise support chat that the csr must re-verify the svc tag and when the warranty expires...if it's not expired who cares, help me fix it!

Last week, UPS made two attempts to deliver my chromed parts, once at 4 pm on Wednesday leaving no note of any kind, and again at 1 pm on Thursday, when they actually left a note. The problem is, the shipper required a signature on receipt to insure the parts actually arrive. So why the FARK does UPS go to a known residential address before 5 pm to attempt delivery? Twice?

I'm at home waiting on them all day today, so they'll probably not show up until long after 5 pm, which is when they should have attempted delivery on the first two trips. Annoyed

I just got a message from Charter saying that I should call customer service about "an important matter." Should I be Cold?

I have no intention of calling them...

I'm certain they want to offer you some of their AMAZING new services, but only if you respond NOW, NOW, NOW!

If it was so farking important, why couldn't they tell you the nature of the matter? Idiots.

Usually when they don't leave the reason on the phone it's because it's a "You're in trouble" event. I've gotten a letter in the mail once or twice saying "Go to this website to see why we are sending you this letter." It's never good news at that website...

One of my co-workers continues to receive automated voice mail messages at his desk phone from Time Warner Cable, despite the fact he's had that number for seven years, and never been a customer of theirs during that time. It's automated stupidity at its finest.

Sounds like what I'd expect from UPS. I don't believe they ever knock on my door. There have been times I was home when a package arrived, and been within earshot of the door they left it at.

That would be my guess...

I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Windstream, and for now have settled for getting the 25 meg connection for $3/mo over what I'm currently paying. I'll wait until I make sure they did that correctly before I call back to get a discount... tried to get it on this call, but I'll settle for what I got.

So I'm a slacker and didn't do anything about setting up for morning news watching post-Dish-cancellation. But it turns out that I do still get some channels, so this morning I watched some Rick Steve's Europe while I got dressed. He was in Switzerland, and it made me miss Germany.
