Idiots want a delimited data file as output from my enterprise database. But inside that delimited file, they specified fixed-length data fields. Ummm, why would you want me to pad something out to thirty farking characters, when it's an eight-digit integer field? Wasteful, much?

The fark? I mean, in my entire career the standard has either been fixed-length (which, as a rule, kinda sucks) or delimited. Seems like a special kinda stupid blend them and get the worst aspects of each.
