Oh GOD yes. I was shopping somewhere recently and they were piping awful country through the speakers. I'm pretty sure by the end, I was literally running out of the store.

I've heard 2-3 songs that I'd say were just dreadful. I believe my verbatim reaction when I first heard "Tik Tok" was "What the Censored is this Censored?!?"
Blah, blah, blah was the first song I heard by her that I liked. Not for it's contribution to the musical canon, I just like the idea that she likes to fark and doesn't want to hear you talk. Girl after my own heart.

Cussed out the MIL over the phone last night. She's had the bride on the floor crying one too many times. It was time to step in.

The bride finally, after 13 years of coaxing, grew the balls to tell her we wanted a Christmas without her, but she was free to come before Xmas and spend time with the kids. She mad plans to come up in a few weeks but told the bride she didn't want us around so get a hotel. It was a "gift" to us to get away for our anniversary. The bride told her the dates had to be definite because I book through priceline and can't get a refund. She confirmed the dates yesterday and then called her brother (who she hasn't talked to in 5 years) and asked if she could go to his "look at me! I got my PhD at 80!" party thus canceling her trip to see the kids. Then she gave the bride a guilt trip about how at least she has one family member that still remembers her on Xmas.....that passive aggressive bullshit.

It's probably a blessing in disguise. Something awful could have happened if you left the kids with that monster anyway. Mad

Iagree There are too many guns around, and she is far too delusional. Fortunately all of the ammo is secured, but she could always go buy her own.

Then you get all these nonrefundable rooms when issues come up. That's pretty risky.

My dad had a wealthy bachelor uncle like that-- he'd use the 'potential inheritance' as leverage and an excuse to treat people terribly.

I'm going to make sure she doesn't have the opportunity to do it again.

And that's what she does. Finally convinced the bride that we didn't take anything from the parents to live on, and we are quite successful now. We don't need any of their stuff. Her mom lives for her "stuff" and expects the bride to keep everything when she dies. She's a psychotic hoarder.

And she's been talking to my folks and telling lies about me. The last conversation I had with my dad he told me he's knows what I've been doing, and I don't need to say anything else about it because he knows the "truth". Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
