I got home yesterday to find a postcard from the governor and somebody else patting themselves on the back for their property tax relief program, and informing me that I'll be getting a $64 credit on my property taxes next year. WHOOOOO-EEEEEEE!!!

Yeah, but I mean, unless they're kicking back a budget surplus, it's such an insignificant amount that I'd rather they not bother, as the entire program surely has costs associated with it.

Well here in PA they would fund a zillion dollar study about the program (payable to a crony, of course) and give us $1 back laugh out loud

Damn this conscience of mine! I could say "I'm in the wrong business" but doubt I could actually live with myself.

TL;DR, British kid with brain cancer in the 80s ends up being the center of a chain letter campaign requesting greeting cards. Got world record in 1991-92. Got surgery and survived. Eventually his house was given a separate postal code... and then they stopped mail service and moved. At last estimate, received 350 million greeting cards and would like for them to please stop.

More wonk discussions this afternoon, regarding "interfaces". I previously provided our Tuxedo API services documentation, plus several other documents regarding file-based interfaces and TCP/IP interfaces. They were overwhelmed and couldn't even begin to conceive of our CRM application publishing 217 Tuxedo APIs. laugh out loud

The dicks at UPS have set up a new program where apparently if you aren't home for delivery they will send it to some 'access point' for you to pick up. Not like my building management office doesn't already sign for packages, mind you... So these farks sent my package to a beer distributor to pick up. Annoyed

So, after this afternoon's lengthy meeting, I received information from a co-worker about a completely different thing. Apparently, someone of excessive wonkitude Wink presented a half-baked estimate to an executive who's been accustomed to receiving a high level of professional and knowledgeable service for the last several years. As I understand it, it all went downhill from there. LMAO
