Comcast Performance (25 Mbps) for $19.99 Blast (50 Mbps) for $29.99 New Customers YMMV

I noticed yesterday that Comcast removed their normal Performance internet promotion for $29.99 so I called some of the authorized retailers. I thought I'd share what I found.

http://www.comcastspecial.com/

Their website shows $29.99 for Performance and $39.99 for Blast in my area, but when I called, I was offered $19.99 for Performance and $29.99 for Blast for 12 months.

This is for new customers only. Good Luck!

Edit: Forgot to mention you have to pay $19.99 for installation and $14.99 for their "fee". Still worth it in my opinion.

Has anyone that's *NOT* a "new customer" tried any of these places and gotten anything?

I already have a account under my wife's name.Yesterday I had called Comcast directly and got 50 MBPS for $29.99 set my account as a new customer moving to the address.
Done without any installation charges -Customer rep will waive off installation charges as they do not need to ship out anything to you and you are using existing equipment. After setting up your new account, call Comcast again to move your modem to new account. Then called again to deactivate my wife's account..

Step 1: Called Comcast retention to disconnect existing account at end of month.
Step 2: Called Comcast as a new customer to set up new account. They will see that old account is set for disconnection. They tried selling another deal, asked them specifically for $29.99 deal. Was able to get it. Got 50 MBPS for $29.99. Talked the sales rep to wave off the installation charge.
Step 3: Called Comcast activation to move modem to new account.
Step 4: Called Comcast retention to disconnect old account with immediate effect.

Guess this could qualify as a another deal too for existing customers who can switch accounts between their significant others.

Is this deal for all regions or only for your area? I am a existing customer too. I want to make sure I can get the deal before disconnecting my existing service.

Was able to get this deal in Atlanta. If you cannot get the deal after trying couple of times as a new customer, you can cancel disconnection of the ole account anytime as the disconnection schedule date is two weeks in future. Also note they will do a credit check for new account which is a normal practice.

I called today for the 50 Mbps but was told it is now $34.99. However, 105 Mbps is just $5 more so I signed up for that. $39.99 a month is a great price for this speed. Hope this helps!

My promotion just ran out and I need to find a new deal.
I have Blast service.
Not looking to bundle with cable.
I always have to go through this headache every year or so when my promotion runs out.

Can I disconnect service under my name & connect it with my wife's name (same last name)? Or does it have to be a different last name?

Before doing this I would be careful...

Signing up through one of the Authorized Resellers right now for the $19.99 Performance Internet. Went to the website onlinecomcast.com as the comcastspecials.com didnt have the deal available. onlinecomast offered the promotion for me after giving me the run-down on other offers that were comparable to the regular comcast deals. So I signed up, no problem.

I call up Comcast to get my router working after about 15 minutes of signing up. Sure enough they have all my info and have no problem and just before hanging up I ask them to wait while I do a speed test, 3Mbps is what I was getting. I asked to make sure it was the Performance Service at 25Mbps, she looked at the account and said, "No we don't have that promotion available so you now have Economy for $19.99 at 6Mbps but it does look like you signed up for the Performance for $19.99 but we are not offering that deal." Next thing I know the phone hangs up... I call back and of course I get outsourced billing support. There is nothing they can do but try to upsell me, but to call back tomorrow for customer service because the other offices are closed.

So I called back today and they refuse to offer the promotion because they don't have that offer. Yet each person I have talked to has stated yes I do see where you signed up for Performance internet for $19.99...

I called back onlinecomcast.com this morning to make sure I am not crazy. They had my confirmation number, and told me exactly what I ordered which was the 25Mbps Performance Internet for $19.99 and assured me the deal was correct and transferred me directly to Comcast Support. After over 5 hours on the phone nothing has been done and now waiting for someone higher than Customer Service department to contact me back within 24 hours.

Each person I talk to always upsells me and provides different offers, The best offer was $29.99 for Performance but after 10 minutes on hold, the outsourced rep comes back and says I cannot apply that offer unless you also get TV service for a total of $49.99.

I would seriously stay away from Comcast if possible, they just use bait and switch tactics. Right now I am lucky that I have other options, however AT&T Uverse and Comcast seem to work together to keep the prices high and not competing for customers.

Did your issue get resolved? Are you going to cancel the plan purchased through the reseller?

There are no tax for Internet since it is a data service. If Comcast charges a tax which they may do since they are grossly incompetent, call them and have it remove.
