Well I had to pull myself away for awhile. Apparently SD was affecting my ability to focus at work Dontknow although I see it the other way around….work was affecting my ability to focus on SD! Evillaugh But seriously when I am in SD mode I have a tendency to tune out everything going on around me and my boss could tell something was up…he just didn't know what. So before I got myself into trouble, I grounded myself and it has been painful..kinda like going through detox! I shouldn't be on here now but I guess you could say I am relapsing! Oh lord help me!!

Why should I get the check in one sentence. Ok, you didn't say if it had to be a proper english sentence or a long run-on sentence. Smilie

I would love the check because I asked my 5 year old today to watch his little sister for ONE MINUTE while I went to the basement to get something FOR HIM and when I returned ONE MINUTE later she had a black regular crayon in her hand (of course it wasn't one of the 5 million washable ones we own) and was drawing on our hardwood floors. Yep. So..........it's been one of those days. Where is that bottle of kettle one.......

(not trying to steal your advise, smegalicious.....how'd you come up with that name, btw? i love it.)
The term "smeg" comes from a British comedy on PBS back in the late 90s called "Red Dwarf". I can't explain Red Dwarf... one can only *experience* it. laugh out loud (If you've seen it, you'll know exactly what I mean!)

On the show, "smeg" was a catch-all curse word that, being completely made up, couldn't be censored like traditional curses. You can use it in so many different ways, but a classic example would be:

"Smeg off you smeggin' smeghead!"

Being an insolent teenager at the time (as opposed to an insolent 20-almost-30-something now Wink), I loved the notion of a "secret" bad word that could be used w/o consequences. My first car was dubbed the "Smegmobile". Evillaugh

The --licious part was just a bit of creative thinking on my part to come up with a new smeg-related word that likely hadn't already been used by a gazillion people.

Hope that helps clarify some of my insanity! Crazy

Whee Whee Whee

(That, btw, is my all-time favorite smilie!)

I never did see that show, but I love the british comedy. I loved the british version of "the office" back when and I LOVE "extras" (same main guy, rickie gervais) VERY funny if you haven't watched it. my husband tried to get me to watch it after seinfeld ended and i had nothing......i finally did. those britts are hilarious. I love the word "smeg". I might use it....
someone I know wanted to bring back "bollucks" (did I even spell that right??) It's like sh*$ or fu&*.....i think.
Thanks for explaining. I always wondered and now I have a fabulous explination of it.

There's a lot of good ones out there. We used to get the BBC w/our basic cable, but alas, no more. I can still catch The Office (BBC version) late on Saturday nights on our regular PBS station!

And even though it's not a comedy, Dr. Who rules! Rock

No problem. A lot of people have (incorrectly) thought it was from the term smegma [wikipedia.org]. Which it is most definitely not! vomit

Ah, I live with a brit, so I can't escape the british comedies. They're good, but some of them, well, I look at my dh and go "you really are still 7 years old, aren't you?" As he laughs so hard he's crying....and my 7 year old is sitting next to him doing the same thing....

Funny, wasn't 'smeg' invented by the cat/human guy?

If you like those shows, watch out for a comedy called "little britain." Your menfolk will adore it. or Men Behaving Badly. The british version was great. and Coupling. Loved Coupling. Again, the british version, not the american.
