MommieMara, please don't think anyone is attacking you personally. I think everyone knows that you were trying to help.

Here is my suggestion of how to organize the WIKI info. I have put in a lot of thought on how to make it user friendly for everyone. I would have had this done weeks ago if I hadn't had 2 (yes 2) deaths in the family in the past couple of weeks.
Please post your comments/concerns. What info can be deleted? What don't you like? What do you like? Any info that isn't there that you would like to see there?

Of course this is just an outline. All the actual info will be in the place of the bullet points if you guys like it and want me to work on it.

Thank you to all who have been updating the deals! Blowkiss

A. ADS
link to current ad on targets website
tlrose ad scan
variations of tlrose ad scan

B. DEALS
current deals from sales ad
current deals without target coupons
current deals using non expired target coupons
deals using ETQs (if your store takes them)
money makers

C. COUPON RESOURCES
generators
link to current target website printables
link to list of unexpired MFQ
link to bricks printables
links to paperclips
link to decoder

D. MISC
faq/mod reminders
abbr & acronyms
mark down schedule
target coupon policy
I'm really behind in the deals thread, so I don't know if this is being talked about over there also. But I just wanted to say that I think this looks great.

I was thinking maybe for the first post, it could be something simple welcoming newbies. It would say welcome to the Target deals thread, read the wiki for deals and other important information etc etc. And maybe also the outline for what's in the wiki, so if people want coupons they would see that they look for "C." in the wiki. Then to get to the deals, you don't have to scroll all the way down past a really long first post or past all the "extra" info at the top of the wiki.

That's just my .02 anyways.

MommieMara, you've done a great job with the wiki. You've really helped to get the ball rolling and getting everyone talking about making a newer and better wiki. This is a public forum and it shouldn't be all on one person's shoulders to make everyone happy. So please don't take the criticisms personally. All the time and thought you put into it are much appreciated.

I think the way it's set up now is awesome. Nice and clean, and the deals are pretty much what everyone wants to know about anyway. The other information is just good for reference, and as a place to direct people towards when they have newbie questions.

For the record, I wasn't upset with you, personally, Mara Hug2, it was just a little deja vu-y for a lot of the wiki stuff to end up in the first post again after the SDio incident, lol. You did a great job with it.

Well I'll leave it to others I guess to figure out how they want it but all the info is now in a WIKI form so no one person is in control of it all. The Guide WIKI needs some playing with because some nice person keeps tampering and changing links to applesauce.com lol bitter about no applesauce at their store? I agree with Whee that the deals are what people what and a person the wants to be proactive will click the link and read the second WIKI a person who is lazy will post in the thread and ask even if we tattoo the info to their forehead lol. JMO but I'm hoping the 2 diffrent ones will work because I personally like just having deals and stuff like that in the main WIKI. I do recommened however it is done that a lot of spaces are used so when you go to edit everything is broken up into blocks and it is easy to see where one thing ends and the next starts

KC Shoppers:

I just came back from the SuperTarget at 135th and State Line. I was told that this store is now limiting us to 10 Target/SuperTarget web coupons. No limit on MFGs, but only 10 of their own web coupons. I think this is outrageous. The woman (Melissa) told me it's because people are using way too many coupons, doubling up (more than one TQ for the same item), and using large stacks of coupons. It's my point of view that we're being punished because the cashiers can't keep track of what's been purchased, or because Target's own system of coupon redemption is sadly outdated. If they're going to put the coupons out there for our use, then we should be able to USE them.

Wow. This used to be such a coupon friendly store.

And they are so isolated out there, they really can't afford to drive off customers that make the extra drive to get there.
Bronc, ya know you're my boy Scratchhead well maybe your're a girl Dontknow but anyway - you're my boy so don't be offended by what I am about to say.
But do you think maybe the reason you are seeing a crack down on coupons is because you pin point your exact store and put it out there for all Glasses2 to see? I know you are doing all legit deals and have nothing to hide or 'worry' about but if there are Reds around here (and I am of the belief that why wouldn't they read here?) they aren't reading about your legit deals and sayin "well Bronc is a good guy so you can accept all of his/her coupons but watch out for the Slicky Slick SDer two aisles over". shake head I don't think so. I think they are going to 'hot list' that store as a heavy coupon usage store and implement some restrictions.

Ah, Cherry, me love... I yam a guy - I'm sure that's no surprise. I think you have a good point, but my complaining about their coupon policy is not going to make them pay attention and make new policy that is even stricter. Now, if I were posting about all my deals and telling everyone about how many coupons I used and snuck through, I might be more inclined to say "Yeah, that's it... that's the reason." If they're reading my posts, and like you, I have no reason to believe that they're not, then they've learned that I've used up to 30 coupons at a time, which is not big usage. If I had to pinpoint the reason the policy has changed, I'd say it's because there are big coupon users at that store. I was told some people hand over inches-thick stacks of coupons. I think my own consistent coupon use at that store has identified me as someone to watch. I think the LODs want to make sure the cashiers are doing their job, so they take over when known coupon users check out. To me, that's insulting. Train your cashiers to do their job. Don't do it for them, and thus make a customer feel like a thief.

But, I shall take your warning to heart, and in the future let people PM me if they need to know which store I'm talking about.

Seems like my plans are soooo out of tune. Thank you ladies for the comments. I will replan everything. This is my first baby so I have no idea what I am getting into. The in-laws are staying for a little over a month so I figured a month worth of supplies and grocies while they're visiting would be enough, but looks like I was wrong. Now I am even more bummed that I haven't been able to find the free cups peelies. Sorry for the OT !!
Oh no, trust me, I've been there! You just can't know what to expect, and no matter what everyone tells you, you won't REALLY know till you experience it for yourself. Smilie

Just make sure you stock up on all that stuff, like plates and cups - you'll be healing, and spending time getting to know your baby, so you don't need to spend any extra time in the kitchen than you have to! And stock up on foods you can make real simple meals out of! (And have your hubby collect local takeout menus for you - takeout was our best friend for a few weeks, and the menus my hubby had collected really came in handy!)

And if you're feeling up to it now, it's always a good idea to make a few dinners/casseroles to freeze so you can just pop them in the oven (you'll be too tired to cook!)

Just plan everything to make it as easy on yourself as possible. And with the relatives, don't be afraid to ask them for help! That's what they're there for! If they want to help you and the baby, they won't have a problem washing some dishes or folding some laundry. It's all about you and the baby. Wink Just something simple like: "Could you do [insert chore here] while I go change/feed/rock the baby?" Something like that. What do all the fellow mamas out there think? Any good tips? Big Grin

Oh, and the one thing I always tell my fellow new mommies: (because no one told me and I wish they had!) You will still look very pregnant for several weeks after the baby comes. I was not prepared for that, and it freaked me out! EEK! LMAO No one ever tells you that, and in the movies, all the women look just like they did before supposedly hours after they have the baby. (We wish, right?!) That's my "one thing I always must tell new mommies-to-be." Smilie (All you current moms, what's the one bit of advice you always have to give new moms? I'm always curious about that. Smilie)

But just relax and take it easy on yourself. The calmer you feel, the calmer everyone else will be, too.

You'll be fine - it's SO exciting! Big Grin Having a baby in the house, especially your first, is a wonderful time in your life!

Congratulations, and if you need anything, we'll always be here! Wink

Thanks for the advice. It looks like I need to revise my plans and take into account all the things I really didn't think about. My only problem is that I can't go shopping often and I only have a couple of weeks left before the baby arrives. I've had a high risk pregnancy so the hubby doesn't like me going out by myself and since everyone else's working I have to wait unil someone can go with me, mostly my mom.
I kind figured it would take me some time to get back to my regular shape. As it is I feel like an aircraft carrier.
I am really not sure how it is going to work out with the relatives. They are coming from abroad and are used to a completely different life style. More of a posh life that we are used to here in the States.

Here's my .02. If relatives are coming to visit, make sure they know you will not wait on them. This is a special time for you, and you do not need to be running around playing hostess. I would inform them that you have stocked the kitchen and would appreciate if they help themselves to what ever it is they need. If you don't have it stocked, you can give directions to the nearest store for them. This is the one time in your life where it really is all about you and the baby. Good Luck!hug
