Ok seriously, WTH is the deal with people saying "I get $xx a week for food, or I hubby gives me $xx a week." Are we living in the fricken 1960's? Are both names not on the checking acct?

Sorry, I just don't understand that at all. Maybe it was the way it was worded.
LMAO I agree! Actually we do have separate accounts and both work full time. We used to have a budget for groceries and household goodies ($200 a month I think) that came out of his account. That was all pre-couponing...only buying "on sale". Now it comes out of my account and I spend at the max $50 month (that is mostly for fruits, veggies and meat that I don't have coupons for).

I think what people are trying to say is they have a budget in the house and since they do the shopping they get the alotted $$.

I think it was definitely the way it was worded. Rofl2

Thanks for the advice...I'll try to do as much as I can before the baby comes so they can be comfortable and the hubby is taking off work for a couple of weeks to spend time with the baby so we'll work it out. I wish I can just give them directions and be done with it, but when they come to visit they don't drive cause they dont have U.S. licenses and they dont know their way around. But I definitely decided that this time me and my baby come first, second, and last. Hopefully, I wont feel guilty when I tell them no I can't take you shopping. Usually when they come to visit we go shopping non-stop for 2 weeks.

I am already cranky ... I have been stuck at the house for most of the pregnancy so I get very cranky very easily. I can't pass a mirror and not have watery eyes cause I can't recognize myself. I hope once the baby comes I won't be so deformed =(

I know how you feel, I was housebound for most of my pregnancy unless DH would drive me. I wasn't allowed to drive as I was prone to my BP dropping and I passed out everywhere. It was awful. And you look beautiful, every pregnant woman does. I gained 53 pounds and couldn't wear anything but flip flops in the dead of winter and I still think I looked hot cause I was carrying my kid!

Your points just keep adding up. I have 5000 points on my card, so I have 5 more 10% off cpns coming, even if I don't use my card. The trick is, you have to put your purchase on your red card when you use the 10% off card.
Okay, so can you decide when they send you the 10% off coupons, or do they just send them automatically? And, how long are they good for (i.e. once you get them, when do you need to use them by)?

Thanks!!!

They send them once a month, as long as you have the required amount of points. I believe that they are good for about 3-4 wks after you get them.

You can only use them one day. Once they are scanned, they are good for the reminder of that shopping day. I have tried the next day and they don't work. LOL

And be prepared for your hormones to go crazy. I truly believe I had full-blown post-partum depression after both births. I was very touchy, got into arguments all the time, absolutely could NOT tolerate ANY crying from the baby, would get so frustrated with the littlest things. I just came to this realization when my mil visited again recently, without a newborn in the house, and most of the tension I had felt on her previous visits was gone. Its because my hormones weren't all haywire!

Good golly, my hormones must be haywire. My 'baby' is 12 years old, and my MIL STILL drives me nuts!LMAO

It is 1 point per dollar on Target purchases. 1 point per every $2 on all other purchases.

OMG ....You are my hero... You gained 53 lbs and got over it ... I've gained about 23 lbs and I can barely take the weight. I have osteo-arthritis in both my knees and was only supposed to gain about 15 lbs, but that didn't happen. I am assuming since I still have a couple of weeks left I'll probably hit 30 lbs. The hubby has been super supportive and tells me all the time I look hot.. he even says I got a b4tt out of all this.

You really cracked me up laugh out loud I actually get along with my MIL ..she's a very cool lady. Its just the stress to know that you have guests and its is your responsibility to make them feel as comfortable as humanly possible. Then again, I think I can blame my hormones for a lot of things that I normally wouldn't do.

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING.

Not only that, but wives having to hide their shopping, or asking to go, or lying about how much or what they buy.

Come on ladies....is your marriage a partnership or a dictatorship?

Now, my dh doesn't like when I do shady deals, but he acknowledges that I am an adult, capable of making my own decisions and if I get in trouble, then *I* get in trouble. So, generally, I refrain from doing anything shady with him along. But he doesn't *let* me go shopping, or give me a certain amount, etc.

Ok to make you feel better only gaining 15 pounds is TOTALLY unrealistic in my opinion given that the amount you gain by the end in baby weight is about 25 pounds. Figure a 8 pound baby a 4 to 5 pound placenta and about 3 to 4 pounds worth in amneotic fluid plus your blood volume increases to supply the baby that goes up 3 to 4 pounds breast tissue increase for about 3 to 4 pounds. Well do the math Smilie Don't worry the end result is worth it and I hate to tell you but once its over many people miss being pregnant. Thats why we are crazy enough to do it again Smilie

EEK!

I know some women feel that way, but I wasn't one of them! I HATED being pregnant - and I just want the baby again, not the pregnancy. LMAO I'm willing to brave the pregnancy part just to get the baby.

For the first FOUR months (that's right, 4, not 3) I had morning sickness. Why do they call it that, by the way? It's more like constant vomiting 24/7. Not sure where the "morning" part fits in. I'd wake up at 8am, and not be able to stand the smell of or eat anything until at least 12 hours later. laugh out loud (I lost close to 30 pounds those first few months, lol - but I gained it all back, plus some! Teehee)

And finally the first week of month #5, it started stopping. Then a week later, constant heartburn set in. I wouldn't even EAT anything, and I'd get it. (I still can't look at a box of tums or rolaids without feeling sick - but boy, did my baby get lots of calcium from those things! Coverlaugh) And that lasted through the rest of my pregnancy. Not to mention the fun back pains, the having to pee every time you stand up.

Was it this bad for anyone else? It seems all the women I talk to always speak fondly of when they were pregnant - they never had a day of sickness, they felt good most of the time, etc. Makes me jealous!

But by the time it came to give birth (21 hours of labor, the last 3 hours spent pushing) it was a BREEZE compared to the previous months! I remember asking my husband if next time, I could just skip right to the labor and delivery. LMAO

Um it was horrendous for me. My whole pregnancy was issue after issue, I had to have an ultrasound every other week, no exaggeration. By the end, my kid had more ultrasound pics than newborn pics. We had one every day for the last two weeks of my pregnancy. We had constant monitoring and restrictions. then they had to induce me, I was induced for almost 48 hours and wouldn't dilate so then had to go for the big C. Then didn't make enough milk for the kid, which was awful so we had to supplement from the start, pumping 45 min at a time for 2oz didn't work well so we stopped after 6 weeks. Only then did I actually start healing since I wasn't putting my body through hell. I couldn't feel the tops of my feet until the kid was 7 months old due to some weird nerve issue.

That's why I keep buying durex. Never again.

My first my morning sickness was so bad I was hospitalized for dehydration a few times. I threw up all day long everything made me sick it was horrible. Then I got pre eclmapsia and almost had her at 27 weeks spent the rest of the pregnancy on bed rest in and out of the hosptal. At 33 weeks my water broke. They kept me pregnant another week while pumping me full of steriods laying at an angle. I was pumped full of crap to stop my labor that made me so sick and jittery. Fially they couldn't stop it anymore. At 34 weeks I spent 3 days in full on active labor. I kept refusing a C section unless the baby was in distress. I was passing out between contractions then would wake up cussing as soon as another hit. Pass out again soon as it ended only to pick up in mid cussing with the next one. After hours of that I got an epidural I loved that thing. I hit 10 nurse said give a test push I did she screamed stop and went running out for a Dr. Everything went nuts because she was coming premature and they needed all these Drs and stuff. 2 pushes later the whole baby came flying out none of that head firsst stuff. I tore so badly it took over an hour to stich things back up.

I went on to have 2 more so far and want a 4th lol. I still miss being pregnant but I can tell you by the end of each pregnancy I swore that child was the last LMAO

No I agree I'm trying hard to do more recycling and stuff. This is also the reason I LOVE my steam cleaner. Not only do I think it works bettwe on chemicals on my floor and in the bathroom it also just uses steam to clean and a washable towel on it with the steam for the floor. No chemicals into the environment no empty chemical bottles into the landfills and I save money how can it get any cooler. Oh hot steam removes kid sticky mess sooo well to disolves stuff like jelly off the floor lol. I highly recommend them I got it when my baby was in the crawling stage because I didn't want to use harmful chemicals on my tile floors and have him crawl on it. So glad I made the switch. That said I'm not sure if Target sells them or not lol
Are you talking about that thing that's on infomercials and QVC and stuff? I saw something that sounds like what you're describing recently during my insomnia-induced late night tv/early morning advertising watching and was really interested in picking one up specifically for the lack of chemicals and the washable cloth pad.

If that's the one you're talking about, can you tell me the name? I might just order one online or see if I can pick one up on fleabay. I really heart the idea of it.

Rofl2 I was thinking the same thing too. It sounds like there are some women who have "allowances", but I think (HOPE!)that's more of a wording thing than a reality. I do understand that some relationships are that way though... dude handles the finances and budget, and figures out what his wife can spend to keep them within that budget, but it's still a little cringey to me. I like to be in charge of the money. If not "the" money... shared money, then MY money, mostly because I'm super anal-retentive about spending and budgeting and it's better for me to do it then for anyone to have to live with me if I'm not doing it. laugh out loud

Ok....so my dh is out of town till sunday...and I literally don't know what to do with myself!! My dd is sleeping so Shopping is a no go...that's what tommorow and Sunday are for!!!

I'm literally so excited about being able to spend as much time on sd, shopping, and dancing around to music without dh giving me crap I don't know what to do with myself!!!

My dh loves that I save money...but he's very into the buying things we need and not just b/c it's cheap or free....i'm in control of all of the finances, so it's easy to hide a lot of my shopping lol....I just have to be careful not go overboard and make sure I pay the bills first.

I really need to clean, but I figure I have till late sunday night so what's the hurry right???

I was just curious how old everyone is??? I'm 25....I work with a lot of teenagers and a lot of times I feel really old...and I get a lot of teasing from everyone I work with about my q usage...but I've got two of them hooked!!
