I guess my theory is this: If they except an ETQ, not my issue right? Seeing that a Q is from 06, it should NOT be allowed to go through the system. It is now 08, and they have had plenty of years to adjust the problem. Therefore, if I want to use an 1 ETQ per item and the transaction goes through flawlessly, I shouldn't deemed the bad guy. When I came to this forum, I knew nothing about any of these Q's. Funny how I learned very quick about them, and people just threw them out there like a "free for all." Now it's a big issue.
DEAL RELATED: 5 off 25 TQ works on pretty much anything. Makes for a great overage, and doesn't expire til 08.

I happen to agree with your theory. If their system has loopholes in them and it accepts etq's, go for it. I do. I'm not trying to make anyone out to be the bad guy and I'm certainly not making this into a moral issue. BUT, there is a difference between using up 06 q's quickly (because they will be gone soon) and using 10 etq toy coupons in one run, especially when they're not even for the items listed.
If your store openly takes expired coupons great...go for it. But you can bet your AC totals, they will start looking at those coupons at the end of the night when they continually see a ton of them coming through.
Oh, and if it's really Target's issue to worry about, then you shouldn't have any reason to be "paranoid" and worried that they are going to come knocking on your door. Now if you were doing something illegal, like cutting expiration dates off of coupons, then I'd say you have something to worry about...because that might be considered fraud or something.

If your store takes expireds willingly and knowingly, then where are you because I am coming LOL. If you are comfortable doing it because they scan then great for you, but don't say it doesn't cause problems for others becuase it does. Also, why was she allowed to make a nasty comment and noone else is? I used to use expireds and CWS and everything else as well, and one day I realized that a few bucks off is not worth me having to be away from my four babies when my butt gets put in jail, so I stopped. If others who are less paraniod then me are willing to do it, then that is great for them, but I should feel free to voice my opinion here just the same as her. I didn't tell her to shut up and take her nasty attitude off the board, so why was I told to do it when I didn't even say anything nasty, I just pointed out that what she said wasn't true?

Bottom line - keep it cool, provide for your family, but don't blow it for the rest of us. We ALL love a great deal, so can we try to keep them coming by not taking advantage?

To me, there is a reason that stores and manufacturers put expiration dates on their coupons. If they don't care if you use an expired coupon, they should take out the expiration date.
I am just expressing my view of why I think I am being scrutinized for doing things right as a result of someone's abusive coupon usage. People will not agree, but we don't have to be unkind about it.

So yea the reason for the blanked out upc is this.....Stores are NOT supposed to accept returns for items with upc's blanked out b/c they donate diapers, formula etc...to shelters and they don't want the items to be abused and be returned...does that make more sense?
Also, I freakin have to TEAR off upc's of stuff we buy for my dh's son's as the mother will return anything and everything we buy....not b/c the boys don't like it...because I bought it! We have been together for four years and me and her have still never spoken....never even been in the same room. It is really sad b/c she pulled a bunch of crap with the custody so visitation is pretty much on her terms till we have money for a lawyer...so I would love to just get them stuff but I refuse to buy things for her to just return. At Christmas she flat out told her 7 year old he was NOT to open ANY of his presents he got from us until he got home...I went to open the fire truck i got at T for his little brother and he started freaking b/c mommy told him they couldn't open their presents. I was so po'd, and you can bet your butt i freakin opened that toy...I wanted to go on a rampage and rip all of their presents open...but sometimes you just have to be the better person!!!...Sorry kind of went on a tangent there.
Can you please please share details with me?? I don't know what the heck my dh does but he breaks chairs like no other...and they are getting quite expensive!
Your story about your stepson is like reading a page out of my own life story! My ss's mom is the same way! Visitations on her schedule...returning or selling what we buy him...won't speak to me since I called her out on an email she sent my husband professing her undying love for him! UGHHHH!!! Just wanted you to know I can TOTALLY relate!
