For all you mommas out there, when you brought your new baby home, what did you wish you'd received as gifts, instead of certain other things? i.e. What did you find most useful, and most necessary? My cousin's wife is pregnant (yeah, lovely timing. For anyone wondering, she's due a month and a half before I was, and they're having a little girl. *sigh*
I have some diapers and wipes already. Only one box of newborn 2's, and a box of 3's, but I plan on picking up more 3's for them, since as I understand it, that's the size that they stay at longest. What else? What'd you have to go out and buy, that nobody ever thought to give you?

And for presentation you could get an inexpensive picnic basket, get some of the chinet plates put a cute pastel ribbon around them, throw in some of the crystal cups, maybe some sparkling cider. Some of the Easter grass would go great on the bottom of the basket. I love doing crafty stuff. I could give so many more suggestions, you can pm me if you like the idea.

Everyone brought a frozen entree or two, homemade with recipes included. It was fabulous and the most appreciated thing ever.
Some of the dishes my family liked best were:
Chicken Enchiladas (sp?) very easy to make (cream cheese, shredded chicken, rolled into tortillas...mixture of velveeta and milk thrown on top. Yummy!!)
Hamburger Casserole
Chicken Pot Pie
Different soups and homemade bread (frozen bread that we had to pop in the oven)
And...disposable plates, utensils, and cups.
I was also in bed a lot after #3. Nine pound baby, I made them induce me three weeks early. Did I mention that I'm 5'1" and under 100 pound soaking wet when not pregnant?
I know this is chit-chat; but, deal related:
Chicken ($1mq with the $1tq) is a good deal right now. You can do chicken noodle soup, chicken enchiladas, chicken and noodles, chicken pot pie, chicken nuggets...you get the picture.
Velveeta ($3 Kraft) You can do broc and cheese soup (Green Giant TQ and MQ for the broc) Homemade Mac n Cheese ($3Kraft MacnCheese but use velveeta instead of the powder stuff) Loaded Nachos...
TQ MP crackers/cookies coupon, buy saltines for the soups
Applesauce...ummm...lots and lots of applesauce.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Whee.

Have to file that one away for the future.

Keep in mind that the values of some of the P&G coupons can be regional.
I agree with the food and GC for food - so nice to be able to "eat out" during that time (even if it's at your own table)...
I also got storage containers (Rubbermaid), which were awesome for storing clothes that were too big, diapers, wipes, etc.
And LOTS of stain remover and bleach pens!!!!
Anyhow, just wanted to point out that with the $10 Shower cleaner in today's paper I was going to buy mine at Walgreen's but the one at Target has 2 sprayers instead of one. It is a newer one. I currently own the one with one sprayer and it works okay but I think the one with two up and down would work better. Just my .02. So, I bought one at T instead.
