So now that Im pretty sure using expired coupons ISNT illegal, how about returning items, and receiving more money in the form of cash/giftcard then you used to purchase the items? Like AC $10 out the door, but the return would get you $80-90 worth? Is this considered "return fraud"?

I ask this because im beginning to get paranoid regarding coupon usage and returning. I was returning some toys at target the other day, and of course the message came up after 2 toys were scanned "Call for approval code". In the beginning, I assumed this came up when a large quantity of the same item started being returned in a short period of time throughout the various targets. After a while, I came to a pretty safe conclusion that the message also appears when you return an item that actually costs MORE than you paid AFTER coupons. Now im thinking it comes up after the 2nd item returned. Moving foward - so the message came up, and I dont know why I just didnt say "nevermind, just return the two toys, ill keep the rest". Anyhow she was on hold, and she asked me if the coupons were on the toys and of course I said no, and that was the end of that. Then another target employee walked by the desk, and said "oh the coupon thing". Then while she was talking to the rep on the phone, she said "yes theres coupons on it, but it doesnt say, just says "store coupon" $5, $10, $8, etc". I wasnt worried about this part. Eventually she said "Hes in the CAMERA room". To this moment, I still can't figure out if that was a bad indication or not. The other weird thing is I paid with Cash, but the lady said she was going to give me about half in cash, and half in giftcard. Strange as well. Can they rig the giftcard serial number and track wehre I use it? Isn't that a little far fetched Hah. My GC must be tainted and I must sell it! or Get rid of it!

In any case, this was a target FAR away from my home. I'm wondering if one Target communicates with the other and if they look at the surveilance tapes of the certain target I shopped at. Im pretty sure that they have the location of where I purchased the items (I purchased them at a different target nearby) so would they go through all the trouble to catch "the coupon bandit"?

*Sigh*

Anyhow im going back to target... near home. See what happens. Someone said stay away from the $10 ETQs since they are bait for Target. So I'mma try not to. Thanks
I only do that if it is 100% necessary, i.e. can't give it to someone else/it was something I needed and there is something wrong with it/it's for the little one and its too small...

OTHERWISE doing things likes returning things you pais $10 OOP for and getting $80 back i pretty much a bad plan. IF I ever have to return, I use the gift receipt, then just get a giftcard---but only done this once in recent memory and it was just a $16 swimsuit set for DS....otherwise this MAY get you in trouble...

Somebody posted a link to a VERY intersting discussion over on the target forums (dangit - I can't find the original post now) regarding coupon usage/abuse. Some of it really applies to talk around here recently. The link. [thebreakroom.org]

Me, too. I have never returned anything when my total was too low. Even if it was broken, too small/big, etc. I just figure it's part of the deal......I probably didn't spend anything on it to begin with and why raise any flags/questions.

If my total is low, but not that low and it's necessary then I would return something.

If any of you have an Acme or Albertsons nearby and have a baby, check the baby aisle. I was in there with my SD buddy yesterday they had all kinds of stuff on clearance. I got Gerber sippy cups reg 5.49, clearanced to 2.49 and I had 1.00 mf q for it.

I also saw hugies diapers, and Pampers and Huggies pull ups for 4.74 a package, with a 2.00 q that would be a nice deal!.

A bunch of beechnut baby food marked down too

a really off topic ? for you

My little guy is 13 mo old, and has been having some really hard bowel movements lately. He starts grutning and crying, and I know what is coming. Well yesterday he had a big hard one and I think it stretched things a little too far and he was bleeding a little.

Any remedies for getting looser stools? I got prunes and blueberry baby food, as he does still like them, but LOVES table food. He doesnt drink juice. The only other thing I could think of was adding some fibersure powder to his food/milk. The Dr did say before to do Miralax, but I dont want him on laxative stuff if you know what I mean.

Thanks

Can you retry juice? We had the same issue, but then introduced juice boxes to him instead of a cup and it worked wonders. Nice messy stools again

I would really try the Miralax. My dd is now 3.5, but at your son's age, we had the same trouble. What a nightmare!!! The Miralax isn't a traditional laxative so there isn't the same issues as becoming dependant on them for BMs. It was a lifesaver for us! hug

and on another note-kind of happy, yet a bit pissed....I finally found the FREAKIN' Pantene Peelies Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) nod I was able to get 9 bottles total. I had to just use the B2G1 and a $1/2 so they were just free after GC (I got the stylers as the shampoo wrecks my hair), but I was happy to stock up on hairspray (like I don't have a rubbermaid container full left over from the CVS Pantene Ice days Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) LMAO ) I can't believe it took me that long to find the peelies....there must not be many SDs at my store!

I had this problem with my daughter and she would not drink juice either. Prune baby food doesn't do much, BUT mix about 1 ounce of regular prune juice in his milk or formula...he won't know it's there but it really does work. You may not even need to give a whole ounce, you'll *know* if it's too muchLMAO

A lot of doctors recommend Karo corn syrup mixed into their bottle (if he will take a bottle). The written info I could find is one teaspoon per 4 oz of liquid. If the light corn syrup doesn't work you can try dark Karo syrup at the same concentration.

Once either one does work, the directions state to to decrease the Karo (1 tsp per 8 oz), then 1 tsp twice a day in liquid, down to 1 tsp once a day.

So this has nothing to do with poop, but the previous discussion was regarding dry skin. I posted in the other thread too

Found $1 peelies for Aquaphor on the Aquaphor canisters in the lotion isle.

I have 5 of them - who wants them?

K, back on the poop, I have 3 girls and no matter what I tried, they all were constipated all the time, so with my middle one when she was 4, still not potty trained, I finally told my doctor to take an xray, sure sh** no pun intended, she was completely blocked with poop! So needless to say, we had to go to the hospital for what is called a clean out, IV, feeding tube, whole 9 yards, 56 poops later the stool was clear colored and she was considered "cleaned out". Then they put her on a presciption called Miralax, which is now sold over the counter. Its softener, works great, now my 18 month old is on it. They outgrow the need by about 5, but its a life saver! Just dont forget to give it to them for more than a few days, cux the poop hardens right back up! Hope that is helpful...

that is exactly how i think/ feel about my purchases. and my rule #1: if it's going to be more money than my oop, it's not going back. period.
i always hated doing returns before i ever couponed anyway, just because i work in retail and know what a pita it is. also, even if you do have your receipts every time - it is still viewed as suspicious if the same person is consistently bringing stuff back. employees will notice and you will be 'watched' regardless if there is anything 'in the computer' about you or not, or whether you are doing anything or not.

for example, when i managed cosmetics a few years back, i actually banned a lady from purchasing any of my expensive (i'm talking retail $20+ each piece) jewelry because she kept returning it a couple days later. i had to tell her, you know, you've done this x number of times, you never keep any of the jewelry you buy here. so i'm not going to open my locked cabinet for you anymore - because i have to defect out your purchases every time you have an impulse buy. (we didn't get vendor credit for those items, we were losing a LOT of money due to her. Mad)

i did feel rather bad because she actually was a nice lady for the most part. but she had some life issues going on and she had a problem controlling her credit card expenditures (which i think was the main reason why she'd buy and return, buy and return, etc.) the bottom line though was my store should not have to take a hit because of a customer's personal problems and that was why i eventually had to put my foot down and tell her no.

at least after that chat, which surprisingly went well with her, i never saw the lady again. laugh out loud

i've had my eye on these for the last month, but they are still $12.xx a package here, only 20% off or something.
and worse, (stupid) people are actually buying them so i doubt they'll go lower here before they're gone. Ranting

you're lucky, my son who is now 3 just started drinking juice boxes within the last couple of months, wanted nothing to do with them before. He would chew the straw and then leave the juice box dripping on my couch or floorScratchhead

Oh wow. He's 14 months and loves them. I hope he'll love the potty just as much soon. He keeps staring at it, fascinated. He crawls in every time I'm in bathroom and tries to climb up on it. Please let him potty train early---
