EEK! No, it's not a deal since it's joining a political group. More a donation to the cause with a freebie sticker.

Gotta give thumbs done. Not for the politics, just not a hot deal.

I would move to forum or podium like the other poster recommended.
Agreed. Regardless of whether or not one agrees with legalization of marijuana, and to what extent, this is not a "hot deal".shake head

Does that little picture at the bottom really say "It's NORML to smoke pot?" Thumbs down just for that among other general ridiculousness of this day.

Since its a political contribution? If it was normally 25 bucks to join the GOP, but they had a 1.99 special, would that be a hot deal? No. Why? Because you are a hippie and have conflicting political agendas.

Look, I get it. You are cool because you smoke marijuana, you get to tell all your friends how "high" you get, and make stupid references to Jay and Silent Bob, and even try to justify your use with ludicrous excuses, but I am just not 15 anymore. What can I say? I grew up. Therefore this deal is not hot.

A bar owner in amsterdam said he never had a fight? Good for him. I am sure there are wineries in the US that have never had fights. Apples and Oranges. Then again, I think binge drinking (the type usually resulting in fights) is retarded as well.

But wait! it helps with pain relief! or nausea! So does tylendol, ibuprofen, benadryl, and Dramamine. Except those don't destroy the tissue in your lungs.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for legalization as long as we tax that sucker hardcore like we do to cigarettes. Plus i'll get to watch someone like Altria just crush the competition. Then all the hippies will be complaining about how big business is involved. Mixed with the fact it would then be legal, it would lose much of its cool factor im sure. Unfortunately, could it then actually act as a gateway drug indirectly? Maybe. Who knows.

Even though I do not agree with the republican agenda, $1.99 compared to $25 is still a great deal

You may have grown up, but your mind has closed, and your prejudices are showing

$25 marked down to $4.20 seem to be a good deal

And before you start painting ALL hippies with your broad paintbrush, I do not drink , do drugs, or smoke cigarettes. Niether are we lazy no good for nothings.
You need to rethink who you think are pro-legalization

Yawn I'd rather it be stuck in Hot Deals ... some pot-smoking tree-hugger is bound to bump this every few month so the thread won't die.

I'm still not sure how this is not a deal. A membership that is normally $25 is available for far less on a temporary basis. There are obviously people willing to pay the higher rate, and this post brings attention to the fact that they can obtain membership today at a lower price.

Lower price for the same product on a temporary basis = deal.

I also support legalization based on pure economic reasons, and this is someone who has never smoked weed, despite having friends who have offered since I was about 14.

Not only would we be able to reallocate the money spent trying to stop its flow into our borders, money spent on raids, etc. we would substantially cut down on the prison population. Finally, as has been mentioned, I would want the government to tax the crap out of it.

In 2005, the US collected $13,336,754,000 in taxes from cigarettes. That's right, 13 billion dollars. A conservative estimate of marijuana taxes would yield another $5 billion.

Many more billions would flow into US corporations, who would employee thousands of more employees.

Finally, it might sound contrary to my argument, but I do believe that marijuana is a gateway drug, and I see that as another reason to legalize it. I have seen way too many people start using weed and getting familiarized with the drug scene. It becomes a slippery slope, which leads to them doing harder drugs. Legalizing marijuana would force people to take the first step into other drugs, most of which are recognized to have much worse effects on the body.

I'd be happy to hear any rebuttals on this, I have only formed these opinions are listening open-mindedly to people who had different views than my own once were.

Will be using paypal checkout fo sho, don't need the credit card people recording this transaction for all eternity. Thanks for the heads up Smoke

For the record: I do not condone the illegal use of marijuana. Either get a prescription (which I did myself) or stand with us and help legalize this very useful plant. Screw big pharma and screw the cotton monopoly too!

Yah the 4 I mentioned don't work for everybody but there are numerous other medicines far more effective that will work when needed. I have trouble believing that anyone who smokes marijuana for pain could not cure that same "pain" with a full dose of tylenol or ibuprofen. Just because I'm against something does not make me close minded. I have opened my mind to the subject matter, reviewed numerous reports, took into account the different arguments and made my decision. I'm no more close minded than someone who strongly opposes the war in Iraq. As for xero, you are a hypocrite. You are smoking illegally. There is no such thing as legal. Federally you are doing something illegal, and fed trumps state. The dea could arrest you at any time. But that won't stop you I'm sure... As for fighting the monopolies, you are clueless. Do you think if its legalized that it will be a plant people only grow themselves and use for their own use? Please. Someone like altria would put all these suckers out of business in no time. Including any gangs or cartels.they will make it so cheap to buy it will be far to cost ineffective to grow yourself. Blackwater plus government support plus billions in capital equal squash the competition. Aka monopoly. FYI excuse the lack of spacing, typing on a blackberry :/
