Reece Shearsmith (League of Gentlemen) who also played Second Doctor Patrick Troughton in An Adventure in Time and Space will be in a season 9 DW episode.


Strax from the Paternoster Gang gets a one-off, audio drama with Jago and Litefoot.

"Played by Christopher Benjamin and Trevor Baxter, Jago and Litefoot were created by scriptwriter Robert Holmes and made their first Doctor Who appearance opposite Fourth Doctor Tom Baker in 1977 story The Talons of Weng-Chiang. They were reunited by Big Finish over 30 years later, going on to collaborate on a string of dramas with a tenth series due for release this October."

Edit: 'The Doctor's Finest' premiers Aug. 15, with interviews and new footage from previous episodes. You might need to set up a new pass if you DVR Doctor Who, as the title doesn't include 'Who' in it.

I stumbled onto the Doctor Who Prequel "Meditation" late last night as I turned on the TV before bed. Xfinity has not put it up on demand on the box so far but it can be found online by googling. I assume this was what they showed the theater audiences for the special event but I am not sure. I had muted all my BBCA/Doctor Who twitter feeds a few weeks ago b/c it was getting too spoilery so I had no idea this was on TV (and I am not sure if this is still true, but last season I stumbled onto the fact that watching Xfinity Live for BBCA actually gave me the east coast time zone so I was able to watch the show earlier on the west coast).

There's a DW prologue that runs just shy of 2 minutes and there's the DW prequel called 'The Doctors Meditation' which runs about 8 minutes. I enjoyed the prologue but thought the 'Meditation' one was a bit silly, although both had some interesting but vague hints at what's to come in this season.

Did not know about the Xfinity Live thing, thanks for that!

Will watch the show tomorrow, am exhausted and headed to bed. Had a really bad night's sleep, was in pain most of last night. So will probably not come into this thread again until I get to watch the show tomorrow. Don't want to risk seeing spoilers sweetie! Wink

YW. Did not know about the prologue thanks! I did read about that spoiler. And I dunno, could go either way I would guess. Was bummed it was a cliffhanger, I didn't realize it would be though I should have expected it I guess.

Oh, I also hadn't heard the rumor that he is leaving. Just that Jenna Coleman is.

I wouldn't mind if there was some change. I understand the Doctor having some dark moments here and there. But going from Tennant and Smith to Capaldi, it was rough for me. I was hoping he would change throughout the last season, and he really didn't. Though I can't say I blame the actor, I just don't like the character right now.

You might be a slightly obsessed DW fan when there's nothing on TV that you fancy, so you start re-watching all the DW episodes. Then realize you've lost track of how many times you've done this. Doh

I've re-watched just about every episode of Chris ~ Matt 2 or 3 times. Gots to love Amazon Prime! Now if they'd just put the Peter's 1st series up for free...
