Thanks for the heads up on this. I haven't been to WAGS since the free Breathe Right strips! I have 3 of the $2 MQs from Parade Magazine. They are 992s, so they shouldn't beep if I add a filler. I almost threw these Qs out last week, glad I kept them!
I did two runs, both worked great!!!!!!

While you all go to WAGS, try out this FREE chex mix deal

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=262214&t=829142

I did, it also worked GREAT!!!

I did end up buying 1 more excedrin then I needed, then right after the coupons and before I paid, I decided I needed to take the *extra* excedrin off my order. Didn't have enough $ Teehee NONE of my coupons beeped!!! So throw in an extra box and then take it off before you pay and your coupons should work without beeps bounce

Quote from macaroni :
dang my wags wont take IPQ Frown
I guess a couple ladies were smashing and grabbing around town all week, which was bad enough to them, but I guess some of the IPs ended up being questionable on top of that or something. Either way they are hoping cutting out the IP all together will curb the issue.

Oh, that really sucks!!! Comfort I am sorry hug I would go nuts!! I get a lot of smaller deals at Wags, esp since they are open 24 hours (I work noc shift) and they are right down the street from me.

Quote from smrtshppr42 :
How are you printing unlimited Excedrins? I need more!!
I have Vista and I guess I am able to print unlimited coupons from the WAGS website. I have TONS of butt paste and I am being to love Excedrin (since I never got in on the Tylenol deal).

If you guys notice anything wrong with it Please correct me Smilie

That is a good deal....better even if you go on the 30-31 of this month... Those are double dip days for the Easy Saver book. May has a $2 store coupon as does June and they overlap those days so you can use both.

Depending on price of product:

10
10
-5 (b1g1 50%)
-2 (mq)
-2 (mq)
-2 (may es)
-2 (may es)
-2 (june es)
-2 (june es)
= $3 for both ymmv
Quote from ArielA :
Oh that is good. Also I just found in the Longs ad a $3 off MQ so it could end up being $1 oop for both, I may have to wait and try that out!! Thanks for the added info!!
Ok so I just got some Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen at Kmart for $2 a bottle. I know that I could techinically get a better deal if I had waited until this friday or saturday (the deal described in above posts) but I wanted to make sure I got some cheap sunscreen. I will try to do the WAGS deal as well, but for those of you who don't have a WAGS, or who have bad cashier selection at your WAGS, then you could go to Kmart right now (thru Sat) and get a bottle for $2 each. Here is the breakdown:

Kmart has Hawaiian Tropic for $5 a bottle
minus $3 MQ (found in this weeks Longs ad, is a MQ)
Total OOP $2 for 1 bottle

I have a question for anyone that has donated your stuff. I am assuming you do it to help the community, but also as a tax write off. How do you handle your donations?? I know that you can have up to $500 undocumented donations on your taxes, but how do you all calculate it??

I have a good amount to donate and want to know how to go about it. Did you all make lists out of what you had and how much each item costs?? Did you have to keep your receipts? Sorry if this sounds dumb, just trying to figure it all out. Embarrassment

TIA

Hi. I made a list and had the organization put it on their stationary. I'm going to have a separate post it with the retail prices on it and the accountant will determine the actual amount we can deduct. We started using an accountant last year and I love that he does things like this!

There's an IRS document that tells you how to determine the actual value of donated goods. Like used clothing--you can't donate $20 for a shirt, you have to donate a reduced amount based on what goodwill would sell it for. Just an example

Your accountant isn't doing anything special. He has you thinking you really NEED him. This isn't rocket science and no accountant gets to decide for himself how much you can deduct. IRS is pretty clear....you deduct the value of the item at the time it was donated. Brand new stuff = brand new price.

You can deduct the RETAIL price of each and every item. Not what you paid for it. It's just like if you donated an old pair of jeans. Say you paid $100 for them. So what? You only get to claim 4.99 because that is what they are worth. What you are doing with donating the shampoo, and stuff is the opposite. You paid hardly anything or nothing, and you can deduct the retail value $3.49 or whatever, because that is what it is worth.

I tell my clients to document everything they donate and what the VALUE of the items are (again, not what they paid for it). When you take the donation to the organization, get a thank you letter from them acknowledging the gift (have them itemize it out if you want), and you tell them what the value is so they can include that in the thank you letter. And one last thing I recommend is taking a digi picture of the stuff and save those files on a flash drive or something so you have a visual record that your stuff was brand spanking new when you donated it, in case the IRS fusses over whether it was new or not.

There's more, but this covers the gist of it. You can save your receipts if you want, but it is pretty easy to validate the cost of a bottle of Herbal Essences Shampoo, etc.

It's not rocket science and it is a good way to reduce your tax liability. I should mention, you have to be itemizing to use this. If you take standard deduction you are out of luck.

I need Olive Oil and Vegetable Oil, any good Qs out there? I'm searching, but thought I'd ask here too. I found the $1 Pompeian MQ. Anyone know if Target or Walmart carries Pompeian?

Ok I thought of another tax write off ? How would it work with a donation to Toys for Tots?? I already have a huge pile for them this year, but I have always just dropped off the toys. I was wondering if you can get a tax write off slip for this organization as well?? Anyone with experiences or ideas? All are greatly appreciated!!!

Find out where their office is and make a drop off donation and ask for a receipt.

One thing I like to do with the mission my church runs is to get my total figured up and I email it to the church secretary and I let her know I'm dropping the stuff off tomorrow. She will then take me on my honor and mail to me the thank you letter.

Same thing could work with a different organization. At least if you were able to contact them ahead (by email) of time, they could have the receipt or thank you letter ready for when you get there. Just think of ways to make it easier or more streamlined. Then you will be more willing and eager to do it.

Another thing that is handy is the Deduction Pro software that H & R Block sells. I don't know if it is ok for me to post links like that on SD, but I am sure if you google it you can find it. If not, pm me. There is a free download on the web you can put on your computer to track your itemized deductions, including medical. There is also a value finder thing on it that you can figure out what those pairs of blue jeans were worth that you want to donate, etc.

Thanks soo much!! I will definitely do my research this time before I donate. I want to get full credit, sounds bad, but we pay a lot in taxes, so I like to get as much back as I can. Smilie
I will google the program you mentioned!!! hug

wave Hi all! Back from our weekend out of town.

Just so you know, this is a good strategy at WAG but not necessary w/the Excedrin coupons as they are 992s. The 992s will scan even if they are $.01 over the price of the item. Just like the Zantac Qs from a few weeks ago-- the 992 Q scanned while the other one didn't, when the Q was $5 and the item was $4.99. Smilie
