My hubby came home early from work and said, if you pick up Durex play you can go to T. Why YES I WILL!

The run went GREAT. All together, was about 40 minutes. I had an awesome cashier who remembered me in a good way. I had her for the Pantene deal last time and she was AWESOME. I gave her about 20 of the 2$ Pantene style Qs and she said she used them all.

Ironically, I forgot the Durex Play. Good thing I have 67 boxes in my cupboard. I just grabbed one of those. I also forgot to use my 5 off 75 and my 5 off 50 and the party TQ. The total was already too low when I pulled them out of my wallet. (I keep them seperate from my Qs, with my important stuff.

I'm too lazy to scan my recipt, but I can type fast. So here's everything on my receipt, in order of the receipt.

wave Hi all! Back from our weekend out of town.

Just so you know, this is a good strategy at WAG but not necessary w/the Excedrin coupons as they are 992s. The 992s will scan even if they are $.01 over the price of the item. Just like the Zantac Qs from a few weeks ago-- the 992 Q scanned while the other one didn't, when the Q was $5 and the item was $4.99. Smilie
Yep, this is great to know, and I think you originally helped me "get it" a few weeks ago. I posted this in the WAG thread, but here's my deal from earlier tonight:

6 Excedrin Migraine 1.99
1 Purse Tissue .29
3 $2 MQ (Parade)
3 $2 IPQ

BC $13.25 AC $1.25 (No beeps, all 992 Qs)

I am going to print some more and maybe make 2 more runs this week.

Quote from ArielA :
So I can't find the Excedrin on the website for Walgreen's any more EEK! Do they usually take it down during a sale like this???
Print it direct from Excedrin, it's still a 992: Excedrin Special Offers [excedrin.com]

Your accountant isn't doing anything special. He has you thinking you really NEED him. This isn't rocket science and no accountant gets to decide for himself how much you can deduct. IRS is pretty clear....you deduct the value of the item at the time it was donated. Brand new stuff = brand new price.

You can deduct the RETAIL price of each and every item. Not what you paid for it. It's just like if you donated an old pair of jeans. Say you paid $100 for them. So what? You only get to claim 4.99 because that is what they are worth. What you are doing with donating the shampoo, and stuff is the opposite. You paid hardly anything or nothing, and you can deduct the retail value $3.49 or whatever, because that is what it is worth.

I tell my clients to document everything they donate and what the VALUE of the items are (again, not what they paid for it). When you take the donation to the organization, get a thank you letter from them acknowledging the gift (have them itemize it out if you want), and you tell them what the value is so they can include that in the thank you letter. And one last thing I recommend is taking a digi picture of the stuff and save those files on a flash drive or something so you have a visual record that your stuff was brand spanking new when you donated it, in case the IRS fusses over whether it was new or not.

There's more, but this covers the gist of it. You can save your receipts if you want, but it is pretty easy to validate the cost of a bottle of Herbal Essences Shampoo, etc.

It's not rocket science and it is a good way to reduce your tax liability. I should mention, you have to be itemizing to use this. If you take standard deduction you are out of luck.
Well you're right, we don't need him for this. We got him due to some stock sales that were bought like 10 years ago, scheduled at different prices and sold at a loss but different prices. It was crazy trying to figure it out and we loved just handing it over. There was also the sale of our condo under the 2 year mark and a bunch of other stuff. So this year when it was easy, hey we had baby, blah blah, I remembered how much easier it was to just have him do it and handed it over again. I'll never go back!

I think there was a WM Clearance thread, but not sure where it is. WhiteElephant was the one that told me about it, but "she" was my WM thread for a few deals. Smilie

At My Target usually the best cashiers are the college and high school kids. Has anyone been today and are the younger cashiers working at your guys T? I have no luck at mine with the older women?

I haven't been out yet. I have had one older lady that was great and a couple of older guys that were great as well, but your right I heart most of the young ones.
