I just keep it in the fridge. I had cauliflower and lettuce in one that lasted over 3 weeks. The lettuce I opened, used it, vac sealed it again, rinse & repeat, and it still stayed fresh. Didn't turn brown. I heart my vac sealer!
Thanks soo much!!!! Looks like i will stock up on some salad mixes and carrots Smilie

A Crazy time at ..Kmart.... (Warning..this is off topic, but I have to share!)

First let me say, I hardly ever shop at Kmart. I barely look at their sale flyers, and don't pay much attention when I hear that they have sales going on. Not too smart for someone that is trying hard to master the coupon game. So, last week I did a quick deal with their Maybelline nailpolish. I clarified their coupon rules with their BOGO free deals, and had a manager tell me how to do it correctly.

Today I went in. Sale ad in hand, and a pocket full of Revlon coupons. I had read that their Revlon nail polish and lip color was BOGO free this week. I decided to give a run at Kmart a shot. It was a mistake, but more of a costly one for them then for me.

As I mentioned the ad stated that All Revlon Lip color and Nail Color was BOGO free this week. When I got to the makeup aisle, I noticed that certain Revlon lip colors were also on sale 50% off. That made them an even better deal then the Nail Polish, so I made sure I only bought the ones on sale. I pulled my coupons out to match them up, and headed to a cashier. The very first thing I had her do was make sure that the 50% off Lip color would also ring as the BOGO free. It looked like it was, so I stopped paying attention. We get to the end of my order and she is scanning the last coupon...and she tells me my total. $31.**!!

WHAT??? That can't be right!! I look over the receipt and see the problem right away...half of the lip colors rang up full price, but BOGO free. The other half rang up 50% off but not BOGO free. The cashier could not do anything to fix it and suggested I go over to Customer Service.

I can honestly say that Darlene in Customer Service was wonderful. She tried her best to figure out how to fix it, but ended up needing to call over a manager. The one that came (Steve) was a jerk from the minute he stepped up. I explained what the issue seemed to be, and he replied that I could not combine the in-store sale price with the weekly flyer deal of BOGO. I asked him why not? I showed him the flyer and no where in the flyer does it say that it excludes sale priced or clearanced items. He got mad, and said that I could not do both and that was that. I told him that I would like to void the order then, and I would like my coupons back. Then he became a real pain, lecturing me about how many coupons I had used. He stated that the coupon clearly states that I can only use one coupon per purchase, and I noted that was what I had done. I counted out the lipsticks, and then the coupons. He then told me that I could not use them on the "free" items, and I reminded him that I did not end up getting free items because I was not allowed to combine the deals. I also assured him that I had okayed my coupons with another manager last week, to which he just walked away.

Poor Darlene. At this point she is just apologizing away to me, and I feel bad for her. I just asked her to please void everything, and she proceeds to try. She has to go through each item, scan it, cross it off, scan it again and then put it aside. The entire process is taking forever, and then she tells me that she has to do the same thing with each coupon. By now I have been at this "return/void" for over 40 minutes. She scans the first coupon and it beeps that it needs a manager override. After calling for an override five times (no lie, five times!) a different manager gets on the phone with her and tells her to cash out the entire receipt, give me back my coupons, and let me leave. So, Darlene hands me $31.** in cash (what I paid on my debit card) and $35.00 in cash for the value of the coupons...THEN she hands me back all of my coupons. I asked her if she was supposed to do that, and she noted that was what David, the manager, told her to do.

So, here is what I figure Kmart would have made off my transaction had they followed the ad and in store prices... $2-3 in cash from me, and $35 reimbursement from the manufacturer's for the coupons. Instead, they paid me $66.**, gave me back my coupons, and lost a customer in the future. Not smart business if you ask me.

I had the exact same thing happen two weeks ago. It was the city wide sales in my city, and we had placed an ad...found out it was supposed to be cold and rain all weekend. We still had the sale. We did great the first day, but were dead the second day. It was my first sale selling "new" health and beauty things...I never knew I could make so much money off it...but let me tell you, all of my Pantene was a huge seller...and yep, I am already stocking up for sale number two in September. Hmmm...Pantene, Razors, Haircolor.....salsa laugh out loud Anything else I should add?? LMAO

Ive never tried it on the salad mixes. I don't know how they will hold up. I stopped buying the bagged salad mixes because I always ended up throwing some away. Maybe someone else has and give us some insight?

I read the Wiki, and it didn't explain WHAT the update was or why it was important, it just directed me to a list of stores that may have had the update, but how does that help me if I don't know what it is in the first place?

I do shop at Target, but I obviously don't know what the update is if I'm asking.

You already admitted you've never seen me post here before, so why even mention that it's been discussed the past month and a half?

Maybe if YOU put this info in the Wiki I wouldn't have had to ask. Be part of the solution, not the problem...
Let me break this down for you.

1. If you read for just one day before asking a question, you will no longer need to ask. The updates are talked about every fricken fracken day.

2. If your shopping at Target and you haven't run into any issues with the cpns that you are using, don't worry about the update.

3. Just b/c you haven't posted here before, doesn't mean that you don't lurk around. I would say that 85% of the people that you can see veiwing the Target thread, never post. There was a thread I read a few yrs ago. I forget what it was about, but there was a chic on there that was constantly calling people out. "I see you down there" "Are you going to post?" "Hi lurkers" "Waves Hand" Most people that are lurkers are just leeches who want everything done for them.

I am really going to shake my head in wonder if they end up crediting back my credit/debit card. That is what she was trying to do when the manager just told her to cash me out...but with as screwy as their registers seemed to be, I would not be too surprised if I find a credit...or no charge at all. Wish I had a great way to use up those Revlon Q's now...bought them off ebay to use for that Kmart deal. Oh well...something will come up before July when they expire...maybe a good Target deal Smilie

Oh sorry Embarrassment I found it in some magazine with a bunch of other coupons. It was a pull out thing with about 10 coupons. I think it was in a food or family type magazine. Sorry I can't be more helpful then that. I just found them in the mags at my hospital and took them Smilie
