Trying to figure out what this item is, found it at my dads storage.

I have been cleaning out my late dads stuff and came across this item sitting outside in his storage yard. It looks like a pipe, but the glass bulb portion is completely sealed.

I have had a bunch of people look at it and no one seems to know what it is.

Any guesses?

The only marking on it is on the metal piece, it says MASTER. There appears to be a pinhole on the end of the metal also, i tried to put a pin in it, but it seems sealed.

If I hadn't had one used on me I'd have no idea. It's an odd thing, not sure what all uses it has.
