Well, my name was honestly just pulled out of my butt, literally. I joined the website becuase I used it for about 7 months and always wanted to post, but never did. So one day I said screw it and threw together ElDorito. My avatar is Venom, who is by far the coolest supervillian ever (at least in Marvel...) It flashes nice thanks to Oni! thanks again.. Curious what yours means...

twskls - my initials and my wife's initials. I know, it's boring. It was my original AOL id.

My avatar doesn't really mean anything. I just thought it was kinda funny looking.

Do you know how "keep it on the down low" originated? Men said it to keep their homosexuality a secret. I don't mean that as a joke, it was just an interesting explanation I came across.

BTW, it's okay to bring back old topics, right? I figure that's why the lounge index is there.

Pandora was one of my favorite characters from greek mythology... so part of it has to do with curiosity and folly.

Part of it, though, is kind of strange. It's from the movie Seven, which has lots of Pandora's Box themes in it. In the end, Morgan Freeman's character says:

"Hemingway once said, the world is a great place, and worth saving. I think he's half right."

To me... that's what I believe in (the second part of that quote). I think the world's full of a lot of evil and unpleasantness, but worth saving, so I consider myself a hopeful cynic... and the name stuck as my online handle for a lot of things since then.

The X is just my middle initial.

I thought about looking for this thread the other night when I posted this in another thread:

Quote from Iaaaiws :

it's just the beginning letters from a phrase in a book I read back during my separation and divorce from my wife. During the times that were the hardest and when I started thinking I would be better off dead, I would repeat that phrase over and over to myself:

I Am Alive And I Will Survive

It kept me sane and got me through some pretty dark times in my life. So it still lives on.

I think Morgan Freeman is an incredibly strong actor, but that movie was disturbing and the plot was disjointed.

I'm so unoriginal. my name here is jkeyes0, which was my username from college, my gmail address, and almost any other username I use, and it's short for my first initial, and my last name (no, it's not pronounced "kies", it's "keys" with a different spelling). my avatar... well, plastic bag, plastic bag!

Yeah, I'd agree on disjointed and disturbing, though the latter is something I like... I wouldn't put it on my top 10 of movies, but I did like that one quote enough.

Speaking of disturbing... korean movie called "Old Boy" (won at the Cannes film festival this year, I think)... very disturbing... and one of the best I've seen in a while. Smilie I'm quite certain not to everyone's taste...

Pandora, did you see 'Lost In Translation' with Bill Murray (one of his few serious roles)?

I, personally, thought the movie was sublimely great.
