Just a heads up that CowBoom [cowboom.com] is no more and it will now be Best Buy Outlet.

All items on CowBoom's site is OOS. All items are being consolidated to BBO. Currently the sign in system on CowBoom is not working. If you have any issues contact CowBoom directly here [cowboom.com].

They just screwed themselves...If they were making any money at all off of Cowboom, then it was better than them losing money/market share to Amazon, etc., which is what will happen now.

pretty much, cant expect a brick and mortar store to survive with deals like those...Esp with Amazon killng of alot of businesses

All Best Buy did was kill off that business and drive customers to their competitors (via eBay and Amazon).

Nobody will buy overpriced crap at the Outlet. The coupon they sent out is an insult, as there is no Cowboom merchandise showing up at the Outlet, and if it ever does, it certainly won't be at a decent price.

I'm guessing some executive at Best Buy got the bright idea to kill Cow Boom (and low profit margins) to drive customers to their high profit margin (but extremely low revenue) Outlet, thinking they'll just go along with it willingly. That executive doesn't seem to realize there are other alternatives out there that are still cheaper than Outlet, and all they've done is drive customers further away from Best Buy. Morons....

I should add... if they had been smart, they'd have had the transition occur smoothly, featuring Cowboom and pre-owned items prominently on the Outlet site, but they can't even get the most simple things right. Instead, it's "business as usual" with their crappy search interface, high prices, and a sort that doesn't ever actually sort list items.

Cowboom customers were mostly tech savvy and obviously price conscious buyers. There's no way these customers will carry over to BB Outlet if prices are not equivalent or are not amazing deals. They'll just go elsewhere, costing BB market share and profits.

BB really is a fading company. The only thing that keeps them afloat are old people and really tech-noobs that are also not smart shoppers. I give them 5 more years max, and probably more like 2.

They'll make more just by having regular seven days eBay auctions and have idiots bid up the prices. Cowboom had so many old crap no one would ever buy and then the popular items sold for insanely cheap at certain time.

Best Buy cashback was just deactivated from many sites now. Not sure what is going on with this company.

Wow, A LOT is changing. I just heard the news today, so I would assume most are thinking the deals you could get at Cowboom will not exist anymore at Best Buy outlet.

That Best Buy Outlet pricing is terrible. BBO pricing is much higher than what Cowboom charged, Best Buy is going to be left with a lot of old stock in their warehouses if they don't come back to reality.
Agreed. Resellers were making bank with Cowboom, but BB outlet is terrible, so I expect as well BB will have a lot of old tech, which will end up in the hands of tech liquidators.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the premier resellers on SD who bought a lot from them just approached them about liquidating huge quantities of this stuff directly to them instead of going through Cowboom and then just putting the select rest of items on BB Outlet.

To close the entire shop like Cowboom, it gotta be a few millions $$$ at least. Not sure if millionaire Slickdealers had that much time to browse on Cowboom for pennies. LMAO

Cowboom was good and Best Buy Outlet sucks. I'm never going there again as it is a giant waste of time.

I'd do that deal in a HEARTBEAT :-)

Agreed. I mean, I got my Surface Pro 3 i5 128gb from Cowboom, used in LIKE NEW condition, warranty until August of this year for $450, and that was last October. NO WAY I'd be able to find the SP4 when it goes on clearance for that price with Best Buy until maybe the SP6 was coming out.
