I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

more than 50% of the items offered by costco aren't a good deal or worth paying a membership fee for... only if the perk of a free continuing membership was a perk, I'd be somewhat interested, but they dont build many clubs and the ones they have are typically packed w big lines and BIG orders that take a while per customer and walmart will beat costco at their own game with same day delivery and 3rd party fulfillment... just mulling it over while typing, why not offer free (rebated, refunded) membership fee if you spend $400 or more on the card in a year? otherwise, aldi, walmart, local supermarket and ebay got me covered w no fees

Partially be outsourcing customer service to India. AmEx keeps it all American.

that's a shame. Amex customer service is excellent. I hope Citi's customer service is good although I've noticed when calls outsourced to India or the PI are usually poor. These countries do not understand customer service here in the US. I end up requesting a rep from the states.

Back then, citi thankyou points actually meant something... 90k ty points for RT first class ticket in the US worth up to $2700. Now those points are really lame.

... what?

TU points transfer at 1:1 to 11 different airlines. If you think they're "worthless" you don't understand how to use them.

You can fly roundtrip US to Europe in first class on Singapore for 115k points- that's a flight that cost over $5000 in cash. A redemption of 4.3 cents a point, which is excellent.

Plenty of other good value redemptions out there with their partners too.

I just applied for the AMEX Blue Cash Everyday card through the pop up after logging in to my Costco AMEX. Not sure if it's a hard inquiry, but I was approved immediately and they matched the $12K CL on my Costco AMEX. So.. I'm happy.

If you switch the Costco Amex to another Amex, do you still automatically get a Costco Citi Visa too?

They are worthless to me. There I said it. I can get more out of my UR points than I can get out of my TY... so I'd rather concentrate on UR.

Assuming you have your Costco Amex(not closing it) still open as well, yes, you should get the Citi Card in May for use beginning in June.

Does this include a costco membership also?

And this is a no annual fee, but will they charge you for a costco membership separately?

Thank you for the information. My knowledge of Sam's Club is nearly nonexistent - I have never seen a Sam's Club in my entire life.

You have not missed a thing. For the first time, I visited last week to a Sam's club to pick up my online order, and it was a worst experience ever. Waited for 1 hour in the line. Kiosk won't pull up my order. I was told to go in line at CS counter. No sign of order email/text message that my order is delayed to be picked in the time slot that I picked up when I placed order. I was told my order is not ready. First problem, system issues. Second, the girl at the customer service was like, "oh, you are just ordering this?" You could have picked it from the isle. I was not hoping for a red carpet welcome at the customer counter to pick up my order, but certainly did not expect this. Next day I get an email that my order was cancelled, even though I had the girl go to the isle and pick up the item and finish the transaction. I only got the Sam's membership due to free amex deal last year and I am not going to renew, even if it is free. Costco beats the crap out of Sams Club IMO.

When I spoke to a representative a few weeks back, I was told that Citi would get the entire credit line. It wasn't a regular AmEx card, it was co-branded. Something like AmEx held the credit line on behalf of Costco (not the exact words, pardon me). So AmEx did not have control on who gets the credit line nor could you transfer it to another credit card with AmEx.
That is why there will be no credit check when Citi picks it up.
Hmm, really? Amex took part of my Delta Amex credit line when I opened my Costco Amex. I did not get any new credit limit because "I already have more credit limit than what I normally use" with Amex. That's the response I got.

I got a new blue from amex...or w.e a clear card with a blue square is called. I told them I wanted to keep an account open with them after the costco portfolio transferred. They pulled up my file, asked me a few questions, told me there would be no hard or soft pull, and matched my current costco credit limit. =) I use that card all the time now
Quote from titanark :
if that's the case then I will talk to them again. I was told in Jan that there would be a credit pull. I keep getting the promo for a pre approved clear blue square card with $300 promo CB. I didn't want a credit pull because I just got a line for a car and am planning on refinancing soon.
I have chatted and called them like 10 times since last year. Every time I am told, I have to apply for a new card through their new application process. Costco Amex will not automatically issue a new Amex card to existing costco customers. At least, as of now it seems that way, not sure how you convinced them to give you a new card. When did you do it?

So what type of membership with Costco do I need to purchase in order to get this card?
