I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

Well, that is it, I charge my Cable/Internet bill and my cell phone bill on Ink. At close to $300/mo on Phone bill alone, it is about 18k points since phone bill is 5x category.

And I don't even have "Real" business. Many people have couple of hundreds of $$ of cable bill (it appears) and also phone bill as well monthly. Just charge those to Ink Bold/Plus and it pays for the yearly fee EASILY and MORE.
.

Except the free version of the ink does the same thing.

5x points on cable and internet and phone (and office supply stores) up to $25,000 a year (versus a $50,000 cap for the paid version)

If your phone is $300 mo you'd need your cable/internet bill to be over $20000 a year (or be spending 5 figures at Staples or something) before you're getting any value from your annual fee on the paid version of the ink.

Which seems unlikely.

so costco will automatically take your creditline to citi bank. But amex won't cancel the card for you. you have to do it yourself otherwise you will be charged for the fees.

India customer service is horrible. I had that horrible experience with sams club.

What if you want to continue with Amex (different product) and not switch to Citi? I have two Costco cards with Amex, one personal & one business, and would like to retain either one with Amex with a product change. Is it possible at all? Can I just state that I signed up for this card because not only because its a costco card but also because its an amex card. Isn't it my credit after all? I know there will be T&C thrown at me saying costco has final say in these cards, but they would have already agreed to Amex retaining some of the portfolio that Citi does not like.

You can use any Visa to shop at Costco, right? I know right now it's still AMEX.

Amex until June 19th, then any Visa after that.

Respectable CB package, especially if you're a Costco shopper. Unfortunately, none near me and I've already got cards with better cash back in those categories, but seems to be a good card nonetheless. Wouldn't expect to see any signup bonus here.

I do hate the India offshoring, though. Most of my other cards do that as well and their service level suffers because of it.

A straight 4% back on gas seems like less of a hassle than gift cards and ebay bucks. I think Costco gas is really only a pain if you go when everyone is getting off of work.

3% back on all purchases sounds nice, but a quick search says JCB is a japanese card, is that correct? It doesn't seem like that would be an option for most people.
The gift card thing is not a big deal if you buy several hundred at once. I don't use that much gas so it lasts a while. I also shop at Safeway and get a ton of gas points, so that makes it really cheap. Also, Costco is across town, so I only drive by it if I'm going there to shop.

It's the JCB Marukai card, so it's a USA credit card backed by a Japanese bank. But you are right, I think it's only available to folks in certain states where there is a Marukai store, I'm in California. It doesn't work everywhere, but works at Amazon, grocery stores, gas stations, basically all the major places and then some restaurants. It works over the discover network, although not all the time.

You'll have to get a new card from Amex. The True Earnings card will no be valid in any form after June 19. The only way to avoid the automatic switch is to cancel it and that may be too late now. So if you want to continue your relationship with Amex, you need to get a card to replace it.

True, but you can use the Chase Freedom on Costco.com until they also take it in store. The Freedom card also gives 5% back at Sam's and BJ's (online and B&M) during the quarter.

I think you have to have a Costco membership to have the card. If you cancel your Costco membership, I don't think you can keep the card.

The wording says "will not have an annual fee with your paid Costco membership. So I would assume a fee for non Costco members. I remember the AmEx Costco card being the same way.

Same distribution: cash back rewards coupon in February.
Thanks. Any idea what was the non-member fee for the Amex?

Now, that makes sense. Back is Sept. 2015, I called CS for some issue and they offered to give me a new Blue Cash without a credit check, I declined at the time thinking that the offer will always be there. I was wrong, after Sept. 2015, they are forcing all the new card holders to go through new application route. The only reason I need Amex is for Amex offers.

BTW, they pull experian, check that out.
I am not able to pull Experian report right now. I need to mail in a form request for it. But I would think Equifax and TransUnion would have updated their report from Experian by now (almost 6 months old inquiry from Sept 2015).
