I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

Update: thought about this a bit more.

I have the AmEx Blue Cash Preferred, which is 3% gas. I also have the Citi Double Cash (Mastercard), which is 2% on everything. I also have a Chase Freedom (Visa), which is 1% on everything.

So in comparison, the Citi Costco is only 1% more on gas (4% Citi Costco vs. 3% AmEx Preferred), 1% more on restaurants (3% Citi Costco vs. 2% Citi Double Cash), and 1% more on Costco (2% Citi Costco vs. 1% Chase Freedom or any other Visa that is now accepted at Costco).

1% gas, 1% Costco, 1% restaurants? Probably not worth opening another card. Maybe good for some, but not if you already have a credit card arsenal. I will give them credit, though, as it is still an upgrade, however slight.
You wont be able to use Blue Cash at the Costco pump after June. So you wont get the discounted Gas if you want AMEX cashback.

AMEX has been outsourcing to india for a long time.
Then they must have a lot of Americans in India because no AMEX customer service I have ever talked to has sounded Indian or acted clueless like India's fine customer service folks.

The Visa card has no annual fees, but they do charge you the standard annual Costco membership on the Visa card.

Does anyone know if you can cancel the card when the switch happens without affecting FICO / credit scores?
I could be incorrect, The Amex Card/Costco card came with a "Executive membership" which is $110 which is double of the Gold membership $55. So basically you are charged an extra $55 to have that card.. this is why I have Gold membership + Amex Blue card. It all depends on how much you spend at Costco... Also I rather get rewards that I can spend anywhere and not just Costco.. I wonder how Citi will change that???

How much will they charge for the combination of the Visa/Costco membership card?...

You can only get a Costco Amex or the new Visa if you have a Costco membership, which is either $55 or $110 annually. You don't have to get the executive membership.

Regarding cash back - You can go to the membership desk and ask for cash. No need to spend your cash back at Costco.

I'm guessing there are international transaction fees, however, because they don't say anything about it. Anybody know for sure?
This is what I'm wondering too. Confused

You are required to pay for the gold membership, $55. You can choose to upgrade with costco for the executive, they will charge the same amount as any other person, $110.

As long as you keep a membership with costco the American Express is free, same applies to the new Citi Visa

Anyone know if you cancel the new Visa without hurting credit score?

Amex has been offering rewards to switch over to the "Blue cash Everyday" card. The offered me $200 rewards if I spend $1500 within 3 months. They also have other offers. You can always take the offer and cancel the card after that. The new Costco Citi card seems to be a better deal.

I took advantage of a $300 for $3000 spedning in first 3 months offer from Blue Cash by Amex. Lots of different offer & it seems thye might get better as June 19 appraoches.

One thing I WOULDN'T do is cancel a credit card.
More cards you have - the more credit worthy you seem to creditors & the better your FICO will be - that is if you don't max them out.

Amex offers to convert the card everytime I login.

If I convert the True Earning to Amex Blue, will citibank still receive my account portfolio and send me a "Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi".

I like the new card benefit.
