Sophia will be back on Saturday. My dad is flying down to spend Fathers day weekend here with us and bring her back. I am honestly lucky bc I know some ppl would kill for a week break, I just get sad at times. I slept with one of Sophia's blankets last night Blush but it made me feel closer to her. She is just too young to understand. I don't think I could travel and be away from them, that must be sooo hard for you!!! hug

It's awful but I'm the breadwinner so I have to do it. We have a significant mortgage and this job pays the bills. I travel 25% but work from home the other 75% of the time so I get to be offline by 4:30-5 and hang with baby. I also get to hang with him first thing in morning too. So that's how I rationalize it when I feel like quitting. But it still doesn't make any sense when I get stuck in airports in the middle of nowhere, I just want to get home to see my kid! Tomorrows trip I don't get back until Friday!

One thing I do is keep updated pics on my ipod so I can scroll through them all the time--

Enjoy it. Do things you wouldn't normally do. Buy her new toys with etq's. Reorganize your LR or something. Eat ice cream without someone pulling at your leg.

And above all, be ready for the piles of kisses you will get as soon as she gets back

I kinda understand this. I am also the "breadwinner" and I work nights (going back to work tonight I think, I have been off for almost 1 month EEK!) so I am asleep all day. Then when I do wake up I don't feel like doing much. I work that shift bc I make a HUGE shift differential, but lately I wonder if the $ is worth it... I will have to think more about this, I might change before school starts again. I miss so much of my older dd's school stuff bc of work.

I feel for single mothers (DH said his mother worked 3 jobs to support him and his bro)..

though,, my DH and I own a business and are trying every day to expand to start the business in other cities. I am 25 and he is 30 we do not have any children.. Our baby is our business and without a kid bankers look at us like we aren't stable since we don't have a kid?! What is up with that ?!?

___

off to T lookin for some clearanced electronics hopefully they are marked down by now Wink
You sound like a very responsible person, that is a shame. It is true however, that many people think if you have children you are more stable, be more likely to pay your bills.

Right but aren't you there for lots of other stuff or are you sleeping? you work 11-7 or 12-8 right? Do you go home and go to sleep or do you wait to sleep till later? Couldn't you change your sched to sleep while they're in school that way you could do after school stuff??

I ask because I was thinking of going to nursing school in a couple of years and that's what I was always thinking was the ideal schedule. I worked nights in the ER for a year before the baby was born for fun and I liked it

Aww, Ariel Comfort

I know the feeling. Both of my DD's are older 12 and 9, but when the youngest was 2 my DH and I went on a cruise and I had to sleep with one of her blankets, too. But after a few nights I was having so much fun that I was okay. Just keep yourself busy!!! Lots of shopping in your future, I see!!!

I work 11-7:30am most days, but I do 12 hour shifts 1 day a week, so that day I work 7pm-7:30am. I sleep when I get home, usually in bed by 9 am as I travel about 30 minutes to work. School gets out at 3 on all days except Wed when she gets out at 2.I have to pick up my kids since the school is out of our district and they don't offer bus service to us. So most days I get 5.5 hours and on Wed I get 4.5 hours. I need more sleep than that to survive laugh out loud If I don't go back to sleep I am crabby and don't want to do much, so sometimes I sleep more and some I don't. When I work I don't go to T or any other stores really. I just schedule those things for days I don't work.
Working nights can be very fun! I feel like I can give good nursing care and I am not too busy, but it is hard on your body since your body is internally set to be sleeping at that time, some days I do great on little sleep, others I could sleep all day and still need more.

You are a strong woman doublesided, and it is a shame you have to travel so much away from your family to make ends meet.
