I never got help, and you know what Jen they have changed the rules in our state since I was a single mom....I had to go to college and get a better job, not collect any type of benefits to get help ... Yeah I know a lot of people who played the system from there, so I believe I know what you are talking about!
You are a WONDERFUL Mum!!!! I also had no help as a single Mum when my oldest two were little - it was tough - my parents did not help then (they have never ever watched my children for me) nor have they since! I went to college and worked lots of jobs and the kids did without A LOT but they really did ok. It is still tough and money is tight ---- but we get by. There are those who play the system - there are those who are just lucky - there are those who work hard - - - and the bottom line is that it just is what it is! I am sorry that you had it so tough --- but think how great your kids are going to be having lived with you watching you work so hard to make their lives better. I think that my kids have grown up with me and realized the importance of school, not having kids as a teen, and being upstanding strong people. So doing without has had its good points too {{{{HUGS}}}

Quote from doublesided :
I'm iffy on the vtech driver. We've had it for about 6 months. The statements it makes are a bit rude but he likes honking the horn, etc so we kept it ...... I didn't know it existed when I bought my wagon, I used the $10 06 one. How many wagons could you need?
LOL - I have that driver for my wee one and I HATE that toy! ACK! laugh out loud Hmmm - a wagon could be useful ... but I am really not sure I can get that Q thru.

Quote from doublesided :
I don't know on the 05's. I probably wouldn't use it without a wagon. there are so many ways to get overage these days, not worth the potential hassle. Especially at your stores where they're looking for an excuse to get you
Like mine Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Quote from ArielA :
My ex only paid child support twice and then he quit his job and never had another "legal" job. When he got arrested (due to his warrant for NOT PAYING CHILD SUPPORT) ... He didn't pay them more than $2,000, he got a lawyer to help him get rid of his debt somehow. I had his rights taken away so I can't do anything about it now. I am soo over it!! He is only now gotten a "legal" job since the state is no longer going after him. Sad really.
I totally feel for you!!!! My kids Dads also do not pay child Support ---- my own darn fault I sure as heck know how to pick em Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Anyway - there are just too many folks who get away without paying any child support and it is CRAZY!!! Oh and BTW here they will NOT terminate the rights of non-payers unless someone else is there ready to step up and officially adopt and take over all costs of the kids. Here you do not lose your rights and the bill goes up but nothing is ever done about it ... oh wait they will take away "Yer huntin & fishin license" Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I hear you though!!!

The handi vac coupons work nicely on the non stick foil and plastic wrap. Both on sale for $2.50 this week also. It has to be the non stick foil. Reg. foil has a different number.
Quick question - when you say plastic wrap - do you mean that stuff that you just press onto the container and it seals --- or something else??? Sorry I don't really know what that stuff is called!

Hmm...I looked online and didn't see one, nearest one listed is in alton and that's just too far for me.

I did go to the Target in florissant and the cashier was a jedi!!! and the km there has the treats for .20 as well....I'm gonna try to go there tommorow or the day after.
Hum I wanted to use a CVS competitor coupon at Target one day, when they still took competitor coupons. They wouldn't let me, as they said CVS wasn't really a competitor, and I thought the girl said there was one in Florissant, but it was so far away so not a competitor. So maybe she just didn't know what she was talking about, or I misunderstood.

Have you looked at the Rock Road K-mart for the treats?

I agree with what dec, just said!! lol Every situation is so different, it's hard to make blanket statements these days. My mom did a great job as a single mom with no assistance, and then I see what dh's ex does and it makes me sick. I really admire and respect single mom's like fire and everyone else.

Not yet *sigh* I was gonna go today but decided to actually cook dinner for dh instead lol. Which he didn't even freakin eat by the way. I made dinner, ran out to return movies, go to wag's, target, and he calls and wants dairy queen. Get home he eats the dairy queen and no dinner!! He's now sleeping. I don't get men. He whines when I don't cook and when I do he doesn't eat it. I'll remember this!!

hug Thanks dear! I was soo young and dumb, I thought he was the BEST guy in the world laugh out loud

I guess I should explain this further since I have gotten some PM's about the rights taken away issue. The state did not take away her Bio dads rights. I had to have him sign them away. Also, in order to do this, I had to have someone else adopt her. My dad adopted her legally. I still have all my rights, but her bio dad has none and now MY father has an equal right to her (like me). When I did this everyone warned me not too. Said that my dad could "take her away" from me if I made him mad or whatnot. I know my dad and the only reason my daddy would take my kids away was if I was being a bad parent, and therefore I sure as hell hope he would take them away. I am VERY close to my dad and step mom. I honestly do trust them with my life and the lives of my kids, so giving them "equal rights" to my older dd was not an issue with me.

I think it is strange that you have to have someone else "adopt" the child to get the other parents' rights taken away. They explained it to me and it sounded stupid!!! If this person did NOTHING before, what makes the state think that they will step up if something happened to me shake head Confused

Anyways, when this happened my dd was 6 and she used to LOVE to tell ppl that me and her have the same dad EEK! We had just moved from MT and I always got embarassed when she said this laugh out loud I ALWAYS was quick to give a full description of the events laugh out loud I didn't want ppl to think crazy things about us laugh out loud

i called the local newspaper up in minneapolis and simply asked what happens to the extra coupon inserts. she said oh. they get recycled. i was like oh. is there a way to get like a handful of each? and she said no thats unethical.

oh well. guess I asked the wrong question to the wrong person!
My ex father in law worked for the major local paper in our area, and used to bring home some extra inserts once in while. He was a paper assembler and he worked there most of his adult life, you would be surprise how much that job pays if you are there long enough. Anyway I was practically a kid myself and didn't know a lot about coupons, if I only knew what I know now.

My ex-husband's mom hardly used coupons except cereal coupons, because she was to tired to cut and clip after work, so her husband didn't bother bringing anything home unless it had cereal coupons in it. I wish I had that connection now!

The only one I found was a $0.30 off tearpad at a gas station, but the Q expired 5/31. This past Sunday in SS, there is a $0.75 off - the best one that I have seen so far. I put that in my want list because ebay is so expensive.

Thanks, stormy_cat! Now I have more stock than the local grocery store. They will go fast with the kids home for the hot summer.

I got cheap Powerades and a few FREE 24-pack Dasani. Good timing with the combination of local store sale price $0.59 - $1 off 2 coupons sent by stormy_cat and the Free Dasani pack wyb of 10 Powerades.
