Taking 16 month old DS (will be 17 mon at time of trip) on plane trip soon, about 2.5 hours on plane, hour in car to airport, hour in car from airport to where staying. I haven't traveled with him since he was 6mos old and am putting together a list. Those of you with babies, please look it over and tell me what I'm missing. This is my last post before my trip, I'll look over responses on Friday when I get back. Some stuff I'd have people get for me before I get there (I have that option thankfully), some stuff I'd be bringing. Thanks!

baby
2 packs size 6 cruisers
a couple of swim diapers
dish set/spoons/cups
wipes
bibsters
inflatable tub
clothes
PJ's
pony
bag of toiletries, diaper cream, etc
tylenol

food
8 pack apple juicy juice
gerber apple cinnamon puffs
market pantry oats
chicken nuggets
milk
frozen raspberries
kashi honey sesame crackers
fruits/veggies 2packs-anything but peaches/peas/strawberries. he doesn't eat out of jar anymore but when we're travelng it's much easier. will need 3 a day so total 9 packs (I'm iffy on this, what else can I give him to get his fruits/veggies in without resorting back to baby food???)
water
pepp farm cinn bread
yobaby 6 pack
flat earth cheddar chips
motts applesauce natural 6 pack
vanilla pediasure since he won't eat jack since his schedule is off

toys
some new toys both ways, small ones for plane way there. another set of new ones for way back. I'm thinkin the FP ones that are on TPC, I have none of those. Or little people or playskool. Something to use ETQ on.
bath toys
couple of books
portable dvd player

The best solution?

Have more kids! Big Grin

After the 1st one, you learn to pack light and let them play together - so no need to load up luggages with all those items. Besides, it costs $$$ to travel with more than 1 bag per person.

We have traveled overseas many times and to the west coast at least twice yearly. The best things to bring are portable DVD player, portable video games and little snacks.

Last resort? sleeping pills.... for you. Stick Out Tongue

There's 3 of us so we get 3 bags, should have no problem and that's without carry ons. Added port DVD player since we have one and he loves it.

OK now I'm outa here but finding it so hard to get motivated to drive to airport. Oh well.

Oh I am glad you posted this, I am awaiting a phone call soon about a trip.

I have a 10 yr old sister (haha I am 35) who lives in Florida, and she has been having some heart trouble. They are meeting with another Dr today to see if she needs surgery. If she does , I will have to fly down with Ryan to be there, as my Mom doesnt handle stuff like that well.

I am beyond tight with money now, so if anyone sees a good deal on flights let me know, I fly out of PHL (Philadelphia) and need to go to the Orlando airport, she lives in the Melbourne area.

It would be my 1st time flying with Ry, so it should be interesting.

On deal related got a nice Eddie Bauer 27in rolling logguage things for 75% off it was only like 26.00, of course my whole total that day was a lot less, lol

Ok...I have a what would you do question.

I stopped at Walgreen's just to pick up some stuff real fast. I hate this Walgreen's, but it was along the way and couldn't justify not going there.

Anyways, go to check out, there's a little old lady in front of me and she is taking foreverrrrrr...so I'm just waiting and the lady rings her out and the cat machine spits out 2 or 3 things...she splits them up, sticks the rr on the side of the register and puts the coupons that printed out in the lady's bag. So being a frequent walgreen's shopper my mouth dropped open b/c I was like holy crap she's taking her rr's. Well, the lady sees me and grabs them from the side of the register and shoves them in the ladies bag. So here's where it got even weirder. At this point the old lady hands the cashier change...the lady throws the change on the counter, goes in her pants pocket (at which point I very clearly see the other rr's in her pocket) and gives the lady change out of her pocket. Uh....what the hell? Would you guys say something, even after the fact or more it's not your rr's, it's not your business??

Oh stormy I hope things work out for your sister. My girlfriend's daughter had to have open heart surgery to correct for a hole in her heart when she was only 5 or 6. She is now 20, and seems to be ok as long as she does not do any strenuous activities.

So sorry about your sister. . . hope it's good news.

On the flight front, I like to use http://www.kayak.com to search for airline deals. It seems to be the most thorough.

Okay, you do know that you can no longer fly with food? Also check your toiletry sizes as there are restrictions on those as well. I packed books, coloring books, and a travel size doodle pad, there really isn't room for toys IMHO on a plane, and these items are pretty uniform in shape. I fly at least once a year from Tx to Ca generally travel time is 6-9 hours depending on flight changes. I have been doing this since oldest dd was 10 months old she is now almost 7 and younger sis is 3.5 . Oh, and I will pack two empty sippy cups, for take off and landing, and planning to find some hard candy in the airport that we can take on for sucking on as well.(life savers are great hard candies for little one's)

Yeah, it was the sports one we got too, and ours wasn't expired either. That is so strange.

Regarding ZOUT: I had a stain on a shirt and I used something on it that did not take it out. I didn't realize this until after I had dried it. I figured the shirt was a goner. I sprayed Zout on it though, and let it sit overnight, then repeated. When I washed the shirt today, the stain was gone! I've never gotten rid of a stain after it's been through the dryer!
Well, I am sold on the stuff! Yeah for coupons that get us to try stuff! Cool

We're doing a biggest loser competition at work and me and another girl really wanna win! I should be going to the gym tonight but I really don't think I'm gonna have a productive work out on 4 hours of sleep!
Not sure how much you want to lose, but I lost 90 lbs a number of years ago, so I know something about the subject.

To lose the most as quickly as possible, one key is exercise for high calorie burn - and to jump start your metabolism. At the time, I joined Curves, but whatever floats your boat that you can do to get your body moving.

For me, a few other keys were:

1) Totally eliminate any calories from stuff I was drinking.

2) Cut down tremendously on carbs - at least the kind that come in anything white or light colored (other than cauliflower!) ---- you'll also be amazed by how much your whole body system feels doing this.

3) Drink tons of water. By the time I was up to 18 8 oz cups a day, I read an article that suggests you drink 1oz of water for every pound you weigh. Truly, drinking water became an 'activity' for me. Anytime I got hungry, I made myself drink an 8 oz cup of water before I even began to put my meal together.

4) Leafy vegetables and 'clean' cooking - ie grilled chicken patty, turkey burger patty, small sirloin steak.

If you want any more help, PM me your email address and I'll send you the packet of helpful tips I put together to help others at my office lose weight.

And saying all this, I must admit that knowing all I do about the subject, I have gained about 15 lbs back in the last two years. Embarrassment

So ran to the triple q grocery store, spent $48, sigh, but got 4lbs of strawberries, lots of chips, variety of meat, and 4 boxes of cereal(I still have 15 boxes from my last stock up) but I just could not resist the 4 for $6 store q that I could use 4 mq's with, so I pd 0.62 a box, okay did a little better last time paying .25-.50 a box but still great! IMO
Not sure if this is a Safeway brand store, it sure sounds like it! There is a thread here for Safeway, and when there are special deals, another one tends to pop up.

I totally feel for you!!!! My kids Dads also do not pay child Support ---- my own darn fault I sure as heck know how to pick em Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Anyway - there are just too many folks who get away without paying any child support and it is CRAZY!!! Oh and BTW here they will NOT terminate the rights of non-payers unless someone else is there ready to step up and officially adopt and take over all costs of the kids. Here you do not lose your rights and the bill goes up but nothing is ever done about it ... oh wait they will take away "Yer huntin & fishin license" Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I hear you though!!!
Some states now have rules that when an insurance company is paying a claim, they have to check the state's child support website first. If the person making the claim owes back child support, the first $$ paid out goes to the state to be used for the back child support. The balance, if any, goes to the person making the claim.

If any of you owed back child support are inclined to get involved in trying to get this type of law looked at in your state, I think OK law is probably the best. I could put any of you in touch with the proper information to pass on to your legislator.

Hope your sister is ok. One idea to consider, if you can stand the drive, is to fly into Jacksonville. One time, when we waited too long to plan a trip to Disney, flights to Orlando were outrageous. Even with renting a car for a week, we save a bunch of money flying into Jacksonville. It was a hassle to drive both ways, and with gas what it is might not be as much of a deal, but it is a possibility.

That is a rule in my state as well, but it seems so sad that to get any Child Support your ex has to be in a car accident that wasn't his fault, or some type of work injury claim. This helped me get a small amount of child support at one time, but I never wanted to see the ex hurt (he ended up being ok) I just wanted the support.

The guy in Germany is just a sicko, I was so shocked when I saw this. Also the wife didn't know they say? Didn't she wonder where her kid was? Or ever search around her house, maybe not looking for her kid, but just exploring her own house?

Some would say it is sad that to get the child support the ex has to be in an accident, agreed. I would bet there are some who have an ex who wouldn't care about the ex, but just want the child support.

I guess if the ex was really a good guy he would either 1) not be your ex or 2) pay his child support on his own, on time.

I know when I was married to a guy who had to pay child support, I made sure his child support came out of our budget first, before just about anything else. That was true whether he was bringing enough income into the house to pay it, or whether it was coming out of my paycheck. I also know once he was gone from my life, I suddenly realized I had just given myself a big increase in pay (income).

And regarding the Germany thing, was the wife even still around? I thought she was long gone?
