Hi all!

Just finished getting $216 worth of pampers and wipes for a PROFIT of $4!

Problem is, now one of my "overage" items is OOS at my closest store (the Fur Fighter). Can anyone give me any suggestions on what will give me at least $2 in overage?

Here's my deal (which my beautiful wife came up with a couple weeks ago from various posts here at SD):
3 pkgs of pampers at $9.99 each
3 pkgs of pampers wipes $5.49 each
1 Fur fighter at $4.99
Then coupons in THIS ORDER -
3 - $5 Target gift card coupons wyb pampers & wipes
3 - $5 Target coupon wyb P&W
3 - $2 off 2 Mfg coupons (expire 6/30)
3 - $3 Target coupon wyb P&W
1 - $4 Target fur fighter
1 - $4 Mfg fur fighter.

Each order comes to $54.xx BC, and $13.9x AC (but you get 3 $5 gift cards). So you profit about $1. All coupons are still current (none are ETQ's). The $5 target coupon wyb p&w and the $3 coupon for the same beep but are always pushed through. I believe the Target fur fighter beeps too but is pushed as well.

All coupons can be found in Gen #1 and/or Gen #9 (except for the $2 pamper MFG)

So now that we are out of Fur Fighters, and I need something that will give me about $2 in overage. SUGGESTIONS please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only 8 days before the end of the month and I still have 45 pkgs of pampers I need to get before the mfg pamper coupon expires. HELP!

Thanks everyone! Glad to be back! :-)

Jimmy, I like you and all but are you SERIOUS using THAT many pampers Qs on your items?? Cmon, the $5 GC when you buy both, the $5 WYB both and the $3 WYB both? Thats just asking for trouble! Use the $2 off ETQ but you are going to ruin it for legit couponers.. what you did is NOT a legit deal. Just because they take them, that does NOT make it right. Be thankful for spending a fraction of what it would normally cost! Trust me, I had a kid in diapers (I have 4 kids) from 1/97 until 9/05 and I would have given ANYTHING to spend like $5 on a pack of diapers! You dont need to be greedy and make a PROFIT off everything. Be thankful for any savings!

Go ahead, flame away but its when deals like this are overdone, T changes things bigtime

He just likes to spend time on anything...but likes to save money.. Scratchchin
We should get together & teach a class for our DHs. Wink
That is why I never send out my DH to do my Target or CVS deals. Then again, he doesn't care to do them anyway because he hates shopping. Then again, he is certainly happy when I bring him home stuff; and, a minute later, he is complaining that I brought home too much crap and should have just gotten the stuff that we need. Umm, doesn't he get it yet????????????? We have to "buy" the crap, to get the stuff that we need sometimes! Anyway,it seems that the Target gc deal varies among regions. Here, it is buy 5 boxes and get a 5 gc. The ad states that some are 5 for 11, but most boxes were between 2.49-3.49. Also, the soda (12 packs of coke) are 4/11; so, the 3 off coupon will probably beep. Frown

Ok, I have been hearing the words "Fur Figthers" mentioned a lot. I think that there is a Target coupon and manuf. coupon (each for 4 off). So, what is the price of the item? Does this Fur Fighter work? Is it good for dogs and cats?

I have to politely disagree.

You are allowed to use 1 Target coupon and 1 MFG coupon per item. I have 6 items (diaper/wipes) therefore I could use 12 coupons. Yes I'm using 9 Target and 3 Mfg, but they are all legit, not expired, and for the items I'm purchasing. It's not like I'm using the CWS on these (hey...... that might be an idea.... Wink ) Just kidding.

Fur Fighter REFILL is $4.99, with both coupons used you get $3 overage. The actual handle thing is about $9.99.

Yes they work. My long haired maltese now is missing ALL his hair. He looks like he's been shaved. I'd say these things are somewhat like using duct tape and sticking it directly on the dog.

BTW I'm just kidding. I don't have a maltese. LOL!

You are correct, its 1 of each.. BUT you used 3 coupons for the SAME groupings! All 3 of those say WYB Diapers/Wipes. You are using 3 "groupings" coupons for each item. You know as well as I do, thats not really kosher. Cmon, you arent stupid, you are just playing on the stupidity of the cashier to push it through. I am not trying to slam you but I know for a fact that coupon usage is getting tougher and tougher. I am reading stories upon stories of them cracking down everywhere. Why push your luck and NOT just be thankful to pay just a couple of dollars per set?

OK, this may be a random question (and not related to T, or KM, or Thomas trains or anything Teehee) but I will be needing to buy a number of pregnancy tests in the near future Blush and I'm wondering. . . what's the best place to buy them? Are the store brand ones OK to use?

I've heard people talk about buying them at the Dollar store, but that seems a little sketchy. But I checked them out at WAG today and the EPT was like $13 for one test. OMG So anyway, any advice would be appreciated. Smilie
i've always used store brand version of ept and they've worked just fine. i avoid those 'early' ones though because of the reasons listed below.
Quote from schmoopie :
I know I don't post here much, but I have been a compulsive HPT buyer whenever we have been ttc b/c we have to do IVF. Anyway, the best early pregnancy tests are the Answer Early tests. You can get a great price on them at WM. They didn't carry them at Target the last time I needed them. They do carry the higher price sister test (same company), the First Response. Both are excellent, but the Answer Early is easier on your wallet. Also, the WM brand Equate is good as well. All of these tests have strong dye in them and test down to a very small amount of HCG pregnancy hormone. HTH and good luck!
my personal experience is that first response and others like it, advertising you can test 5 days sooner, are basically crap. they tell you right on the box if you test that early it is less than 30% accurate (therefore extremely likely to give you a negative response when you are in fact pregnant). worse - these tests can be up to twice as expensive as the other kinds, and who wants to pay that much for something that doesn't work and you end up having to retest again anyway? vomit
i highly do not recemmond these at all. shake head i would stick to 'regular' tests.

as for $ store tests, have never tried them but have heard from most people they work fine. dh and i are also ttc so i might give those a try and see how it goes.

Thanks, oranges for the info on the wipes - may have to make another run or two today for that diaper deal...

Did a run today at my usual good store... I go in, see a jedi from another run, get excited... get all my stuff and keep going back and forth trying to remember things as I forgot my list (bad move!). There were TONS of redshirts on duty today so couldn't take many peelies - luckily most of the male workers there spent more time looking at my chest than at what I was doing laugh out loud

Shift ended I guess while I was there - most of the young boy cashiers were gone Frown

I picked a shorter lane with a younger guy... ugh... He was a bit slow in the head. Took his time scanning everything, I'm hoping like heck my $5 GC from Kellogg has money on it.

I hand him my stack of coupons. He scans them... slowly... think I spent 15 minutes there while he scanned. BOGO Oral B Refill coupons did NOT audoadjust (and the toothbrush one did for me there a few days ago) - so what does he do? puts in $1 for them instead of $5 each (price of the value pack)... so I lost $8 because of that mistake. Only caught it when he tried to do that for my $5 pampers/wipes Qs and when I looked at my receipt...

My receipt is a mess - it's changed since the last time I was there just a few days ago so they got some kind of update... missing Qs on here too, grr. Need to go total it up.

I kept my cool the entire time in there though - I had legit Qs and makes me mad that he entered in $1s for everything. People behind me were complaining to each other none stop about me... that part amused me at least - I'm the one saving money.

Worst part? When he was all done, he didn't even bother to help me take my bags of the racks - and they were in front of him!! I'm having to reach over the pay pad to take my stuff! He is too busy apologizing for the wait to the people behind me... he should have apologized to me for being a dinkhead!

I know what you mean about slow cashiers. Essh. I spent so much time in line today. The one store, he scanned my FREE Frenchs yellow mustard cpn. I told him, "They were $1.00". So he enters $1.00. He then decides to READ the cpn. The next thing I know, he is taking the cpn off the order and rescanning it. "What is wrong?" "Nothing, but this cpn is good for up to $1.59, not just $1.00". Are you kidding me?!?!! It was good for my total, but I still don't know what he was thinking.

How is that being a self righteous winner? The cashier was obviously a "dinkhead". Umm... the coupon should have been for $5.00 if she was buying several items with several coupons that adds up pretty quick. I'm not trying to be snarky but a majority of the people in this thread use coupons and when we have to pay extra because the cashier is a dork we have every right to be a little upset.

Deal related: I found some $1/1 Kellogg's peelies at my local Albertson's.

So... after thinking about the run I posted in deal talk thread... I'm pretty sure the cashier acted the way he did on purpose... he also tried to "stick" coupons together in the pile (scan 2 instead of 3) a few times and I caught him on it in addition to entering the wrong amount... anyone else ever had a problem like that at T? It's my first really negative T experience. I had my cashier in training experience and the ones who look at Qs and reject Qs - but not one who has acted maliciously. Upset over it as I really love target...

Any advice from the pros for me on how to handle cashiers like this in the future without abandoning my cart?

So I noticed that the 07/06 P&G is supposed to have a $1/1 Tampax Compak Pearl or Pearl 18 ct. or larger and thought I would browse on ebay since sometimes people get them early and post them. I happened to find an auction for (1) $1/1 any Tampax Compak Pearl with a starting bid of $.29 and $.60 shipping... OR you can BIN for $1.00! I don't get it. Even if your store doubles or you buy a trail size package. You are still paying $.89 (or $1.60 if you BIN) for a $1 coupon. I guess I am out of the loop on this one. If you want to view the auction just search for "tampax coupon" or 200233539919.

Hi there. I hold my coupons and hand them over one by one. That way if something attaches to something else my total doesn't get too low and I can hold some back. I also let them know which coupons will beep ahead of time.

I had one last weekend who was excellent in some aspects - chatted away like mad, in fact talked MY ear off instead of the other way around, for once. The only thing I HATED was that he took my carefully arranged stack of q's and started sifting them out - biggest coupons first (in SIZE, not amount! arrrgh!) and so on. Needless to say, things got a little messy. He was starting to miss q's, so I just carefully reached over the scanner and pulled them out as he missed them and handed them back, saying "Oops, this one didn't scan" - he was happy to redo them, and the run turned out ok, but I was sweating a little!

If the cashier is doing it intentionally, my best advice would be to review your receipt right away, and get back the q's that weren't scanned for whatever reason. T has no right to them in that instance, and you can always try and do a "missed coupon" at CS?

HTH!
