This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Thanks! I always thought it seemed kinda freaky when the tests claim to be able to tell you if you're pg 5 days "before your missed period"-- you mean the one I haven't had yet?? look around
yeah, it's something about how when you test before you actually miss, the hcg hormone level (or whatever its called) isn't as high and therefore harder to detect. so for each early day you test, makes those early tests more inaccurate because the possibility of them not being able to detect the hormone becomes greater.
so as for me, i'll wait the extra 5 or 7 days or whatever and then test - likely a week after i 'miss.' however, if i miss a 2nd time and am still getting negative results i'd go in and do the blood test and consult the doctor about the results if still negative.

with my son, i was a naive teenager. i didn't really think about taking a test.. you know.. because i was someone who could 'never' get pregnant according to my egotistical thinking. (i was such a dumb*ss back then, i know!)
but talking to a girlfriend of mine somehow the fact i was around 10 days late or so came up in the conversation. she actually bought me the hpt, a generic brand. and sure enough when i used it, came up positive in less than 30 seconds! i got the shocker of my lifetime - i can tell you that. lol OMG

9 months later my son was born, and 3 months after that i got on the patch. no WAY was i going to have anymore unplanned pregnancies, i learned my lesson for sure the first time. worship
so here we are 5 1/2 years down the road. i just got off the birth control a little more than 2 weeks ago, so likely it will take a few months for my system to get back on track and such and become pregnant (if i don't become so right away). as i'm expecting my cycle to not be as 'on track' as it has been for the last few years, if i miss i'll probably wait at least another week before taking a test. so no need for the more expensive tests for me. Stick Out Tongue

dh and i are shooting to be preggers within a year. of course we hope sooner rather than later (but being i was on the bc the statistics say it will probably happen in 6 - 8 months from now). i can't wait to have another baby!! bounce
at the very least, at least we get to have fun trying while waiting for it to happen. Big Grin

I missed the whole thing to, but I think I got the gist of it. I think someone talked about their Target run and some coupons they didn't get to use. Then another poster said what you aren't happy with what you got, and then called them the name. You know, because this is the Internet and they just love name calling someone they will never meet. Plus why they care what coupons someone uses is beyond me.

Did I sum this up correctly?
I just read the last few pages and kind of got the gist of things! Wow....that's all I can say!

And Pretzels, KC is not too far from Chicago! I would LOVE to meet and learn from you!!

I would like to see Pretzels in action as well, the runs she posts are so good. I have heard Pretzels, is tall, pretty and nice. These are probably very good qualities to help make for a great run.

She has always been nice to me, and she sent me the Pepsi rebate forms. nod

Littleteapot, who is your picture of? Is there a lot of Targets in Illinois? Are there Super Targets in Illinois?
The photo is of Bono (singer for U2) who I loooooooove. Smilie
There are a lot of Targets and Super Targets here. If we ever moved, my first concern would be "how many Targets am I going to be near?" Sick, right?!?! Smilie

I am definetly seeing I need a routine, I am guessing we live close, because we are the only ones in the country that has a free zoo. Went to San Diego the first of June and couldnt force myself to pay to go to the zoo there, made no since when i had a free one back at home. Just found out that there is a 99% chance DH is getting laid off tomorrow... How scary.

this is one area where free isn't always better for me. our free zoo is just sad,Without charging , the funding was only enough to keep the animals alive.. thats it. .
id rather pay and see happier, better accommodated animals...not just zoombies with fur. :-/ thats how it was at our free zoo, anyways.

yeah it was pretty hairy earlier. It was all originally posted in the deals thread but the mods moved us here instead of deleting the posts. I am amazed that someone who just joined SD in may would the gall to come into our thread and start tearing into someone. I can only assume that person is just some ugly old hag that is bitter and angry about life. yeah, I know all about what happens when we assume stuff but I don't care. That was just wrong. I hope they feel ashamed for being such a witch!

I like U2 also. I never recognize any of the singers in pictures. I guess I could be somewhere and have a famous singer sitting next to me, and I wouldn't even know. They would probably be insulted, and trying to hint at who they were! Big Grin The American Idol winner David Cook is super hot (right ladies!), and I would recognize him I think now! Stick Out Tongue Someone has his picture as their avatar, and even in this very small picture, he looks hot!

You have to wonder, as they seemed pretty angry. Maybe they own a large chunk of Target stock, and think coupons are going to cut a slice into it.

I actually thought that, too. I think the hateful post got deleted and the rest of the argument moved here to chit chat. I hope "c" poster gotBanned!

ETA: I looked up indydrew's previous posts on other threads and they pretty much only have negative stuff to say.

This sounds like us too. Except I was on the pill for 10 years. EEK! Like I said earlier I think my hormones are having a party inside of me now after having been cooped up for so long. Crazy

I'm hoping everything isn't too monumentally screwed up by all those years of medication. Embarrassment

Hi everyone - I have been off SD since Friday early morning and trying to catch up! Big task!

I got to meet thuctrang and littleteapot this weekend! wave Lots of fun!

So sorry you had a bad run Trang - hope you aren't disappointed! At least you got lots of stuff in my cart!

Littleteapot and I spent 3 hours at Target today laugh out loud Not shopping the whole time - but chatting. So wish you were a little closer!

Who's next on the pretzels tour??? Sagasu??? Might be you if you are around here reading this.
Thank you, Pretzels. I wish now that I have a SD buddy like you to have this much fun going shopping.

We split up my order and so I did get the things I really wanted, which was the same amount as my normal run here. Not bad, but the positive point was meeting a nice person like you! I learned a whole bunch more pointers from the PRO!

Too bad, I couldn't ditched the family to visit ALL the Targets around there. laugh out loud DH decided to drop me off to meet Pretzels, so I was without transportation and couldn't sneak off to do more runs. Big Grin He knew me too well. Mad

We're close enough that it should be easy for next time...

Doublesided, when are you coming here?

I was just remembering the some of the people who used to be around on the Target thread who helped me so much in the past. It was like a wave of memories.

Hello, Shanecrow, Leftnotright, Whee and Bjhac. wave If you guys/gals ever still read this thread a big hello, and thanks for all your help in the past, it has benefited me in the future. I see that there are a lot of new voices on the Target thread, and it is very interesting to read the new voices.
