This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I don't know if I even want to post this, but, MFH & that OP are right - this IS a different one (9856-0112-6340-1982-0846-4821-32) as far as I can see. It has different numbers than the first one (9856-0112-1063-6489-0183-6821-34).

We heart your posts!!!!

I think the problem was a lot of us were skimming the posts and your post was mixed in with another issue. Then, it just said, "look at this" and the link. If you had put in "Here's another $5 TQ for diapers/wipes." or something like that, it would have grabbed most of us skimmers.

SKIMMING is the key to keeping up with the DEALS thread. Most of the time, we are glad when important things are requoted and reminded.

It'll be alright. I hate having a bad run, too, but remember, it's just Target, after all.... not the end of the world. Wink

That being said, IMHO, if everything really was "legit", then I wouldn't have necessarily high-tailed it after she mentioned AP. By doing so, you might have made yourself look more "guilty" than you really were. What's the worst AP can do? Give you 20 lashes w/a wet noodle for using an expired TQ? Whip

Hope you have a better run next time... and maybe at a different Target. Wink
I know, I do wish I would have hung around but I guess I just have that conspiracy theory, no one will believe me mindset. Hubby said the same thing, should have stayed. I did not want to give them any personal info either, and I was afraid they would ask for it. I was legit, the cashier was even standing up for me saying "she has that, and that, and that" I did use the planters and the 1 off "these" kelloggs, but none of the unmentionables. They rejected my gatorade and 2 dollar pampers.

Sorry about your bad run. hug For every bad run there is always a few good ones. nod
Thanks!

to be honest, with scrutiny such as that, i would have just left instead of trying to 'fix' the gatorade issue. not every run goes exactly as planned and sometimes you have to 'eat' part of your transaction and either a) let it go or b) make a return. this is particularly true of ymmv coupons, which the gatorade coupon is - being that it is expired and most often used on the incorrect size. $5/$50 is also ymmv as it is expired.

that said, for something as minor as an inexpensive gatorade, i'd have just paid and not made a scene over it. (and not tried to do any returns, especially not then and there shake head )
had you done the same thing - you may not have had to worry about AP getting your plate #.

not trying to be mean or anything, but hopefully you learned something from this experience. and just for the record.. i'd avoid going back to that store again anytime soon if i were you. vomit
I know, it was stupid of me to even mention the gatorade!! I guess I just thought things were looking up, they were being nice, and like an idiot I wanted my 2 dollars! Dumb, I know. Frown I made a lot of mistakes, I should have just dumped the run when I got the first bad vibe. I was fine with my cashier but some witch next register over decided she needed to come help!! That is when it went downhill.

I ALWAYS read what you post b/c it is ALWAYS something I am interested in and every single time I need a different scan or a better multi-page q, guess who has it?? MyFeetHurt nod So, anytime you post, girl, I'm readin' it! High Five

On another note, I am not advocating coupon abuse with the new q - I was actually hoping it would eliminate the beepage, but, it will probably still beep b/c the current deal is using TWO current TQ's AND an expired one, so IMHO, the current deal is is NOT legit either, which is why lots are getting shot down. So, new q or no, the whole deal is very YMMV and I think we should prob. be careful with attacking one another while we are living in glass houses. MTCW, of course.

No, the current deal, as posted, is not legit. That has been posted 100 times since this deal started. It is totally YMMV on getting them to take both $5 tq's and an etq, but people tend to miss those posts and only see that it has worked for some.

As for "attacking", if you are referring to me, I did not "attack" anyone. I was simply trying to send a strong message out to some people not to try and use ALL these coupons on the diaper deal. We all know damn well, someone would come on and see there are now 4 different diaper coupons and they will go out and try to use them all. Yeah, they might get a jedi to push it through. Then they'll come on here and post that they were able to use them all, which another SD'er will read and think "oh great, I can use all 4 coupons" and they will go out and try it and probably get shot down. Which will then cause the next SD'er that goes through that line, to have all their coupons scrutinized.

There has just been WAY too many stories lately of people's coupons getting scrutinized, AP being called over, cops being called, and the list goes on....

On the issue of bad runs, chalk it up to maybe pushing the envelope too far. I agree with others, though, if a run is legit, we shouldn't be so nervous. I think sometimes just knowing how much you're saving, and how crazy the Target registers are in attaching coupons to the wrong stuff, it can be nerve wracking. It is good advise to stand your ground as long as possible, but not push your luck.

Quote from doublesided :
http://www5.toysrus.com/Our/tru/p...922426.cfm

Well that didn't last long--courtesy of TRU free thomas train thread, link now indicates that the coupon is no longer valid
This really pisses me off, as when I went in - this past weekend, my TRU already had a sign up at the register that they weren't taking the coupon. Said it was a postcard mailer, that the website the q was sent from was fraudulent, not a TRU website. I disagreed, told them I was calling corporate and ended up leaving. Second store had a sign posted at the trains that they weren't honoring the coupon. This sure looks like it came from ToysRUs, why would someone sending a fraudulent coupon retract the information after the fact? I think I'll print this out when I take in the other train coupon, to make sure they honor it.

Oh, and I was just getting it to RAOK to someone here who doesn't have a TRU anywhere nearby.

Yes, I skim probably far too often - yesterday even forgot where I was, trying to take a quick look. I guess some people only have SD as their entertainment/responsibility. Confused I know from most of ya'll, you also have the kids & work thing I have. hug

I am having a crappy day. The baby bonked my nose with his head and I had a bad nosebled this morning. After I got that stopped I changed his diaper, and after I got him all wipe down he peed on me. And I am having serious Monster in law issues again.

Do you think a Target run will make me feel better?

I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this, but no one on the trading thread wanted these. I have 8 more of the $10 off Electronic purchase of $100 or more coupons for Target. I can't afford to give these away as I did the other 15, but am looking for peelies or gift cards. They do expire on the 30th, so I want to get them out to people ASAP. If this isn't the right place, please deleteSmilie
