This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Brought over from the deals thread.

Quote from saad1 :
Nooooo, I did the diaper deal a couple of times and it was really annoying for me. Besides I think DD wont need that many diapers since we are daytime potty trained (although nighttime PT is daunting, I havent started and dont know how). I may do it though, cuz I need baby shower gifts. I do have 1 NB diaper swaddlers and a pack of wipes I have for gifts, but I was thinking a bit more would be better.

Does anyone have any advice?
Potty training at night can be so difficult. They say when the child starts waking up in the morning with a dry diaper, they're ready to potty train. Well, DD had been potty trained during the day for the longest time and still wearing diapers at night. She always had a wet diaper in the morning and I was too afraid to try going at night without one. I didn't want to wake up every morning and have to wash wet sheets. laugh out loud

Well, DH was not happy that she was 3 1/2 yrs old and still wearing diapers to bed. Of couse, he wasn't the one doing the laundry either laugh out loud He kept telling her for about 2 months straight, that she was too old to wear diapers and if she had to go potty during the night, she had to wake up and go to the bathroom. The last time we ran out of diapers (yes, we ran out of them. This was before I targeted so I didn't have a stockpile and I actually paid for diapers. EEK! ) he said that was enough. No more diapers. That was it. She went to bed that night without a diaper and was dry in the morning. She does however, have more than her fair share of accidents at night. Many more than her brother ever did. But, for the most part, she has done pretty good.

I don't know how old your little one is, but if she's been potty trained during the day for a while and waking up in the morning dry, or fairly dry, you could start trying at night. Just start reinforcing that if she wakes up at night and has to go potty, that she has to get up and go to the bathroom and then go back to bed. It's not easy. Some do better than others and you will most likely be washing sheets in the beginning. Then again you might be lucky and be like DS who is 6 and probably had less than 5 accidents at night

You just have to take the plunge and go for it. laugh out loud Good Luck!

I'm in the metro DC area... both Safeway and Giant double up to and including $0.50, SuperFresh used to double $1 but dropped that, and have come back with doubles up to and including $0.99. And several times more recently, I've seen SF triple.
Really? We aren't near a Safeway but I've heard rumors that they are bringing one this way down I95. I'll have to check out Giant, thanks!

Ok - Listen up!!

I was out feeding my flowers this morning and found the oldest coupon I have ever seen!! The expiration date was 12/31/2000. Yes, my Miracle Gro was THAT old!!! BUT, it still works (so I think :-)

Anyhoo - after laughing at myself for being excited that I found a coupon inside a box of Miracle Gro that had to be old as dirt, I had an idea. bulb

What if we had a contest to see who could come up with the oldest coupon???

Here's how it works - [already checked with the Mods so we're good to go - have fun with it!]:

Whoever posts the oldest coupon, that is, the coupon with the oldest expiration date, wins a Target gift card - sponsored by me. I'll even take my own coupon out of the running Smilie

RULES:
- All coupons must be posted to this chit-chat site by next Saturday, 7/12. [you might want to pm me to let me know you posted].
- All posted coupons MUST have their barcode altered in some way.
- If you are unable to scan and upload please mail your entry to me so that I receive it by next Saturday, 7/12. PM me if you need my address.
- I am not responsible for lost or late entries.
- I will compile all entries on Sunday and the winner will be announced on Monday, 7/14, here in this thread.
- The coupon with the oldest expiration date wins a $5 Target Gift Card that will be mailed on Monday, 7/14.
- In the unlikely event that we have multiple "oldest expiration dates", a winner will be randomly drawn from those entries. I will have Pretzels draw the winner from a hat.

Ok - now go search your garages and everywhere else and find those old coupons!!!

woot Have fun!! woot

Ya know...it's not even the toy q fiasco. As long as I don't have expired's, they pretty much scan anything, so I don't worry about that too much. I'm just sitting here thinking..."Ok, what can I go buy at Target?", and I just can't get excited over it laugh out loud

I'd love to go and just browse the store, but the kiddos will be with and that's just not possible.

Actually, I think it's just the day. A dreary day, not enough sleep last night, and I'm just kind of blah. Don't want to do much. Sad! I just need to get up and go.

When I went in the other day, the cashier didn't want to take my 6 soda TQ's, so I was glad I didn't do a big order, I knew I was right, but still don't like that much attention on me laugh out loud I will go in today and see if it is different Dontknow

I hope your day gets better hug
