I've heard someone ask about opinion on Zenni Optical, an online glass making stock with cheap price. Here is my experience with them.

ZENNI OPTICAL is horrible. Their frames are crappy, cheap made from China. I order a progressive no-line from them. They made wrong prescription, wrong frame. Sent the pair back at my own shipping cost and had to wait 2 months to get the replacement pair (Their lap is in China, and they make all glasses in China) . Wrong again, I couldn't see anything with the glasses. Called them and the only answer is they couldn't replaced the 2nd time, they could only refund 50% if i returned the pair.

It's been 3 months since I made the order and my eyes getting very tired, now i have to send back the pair just to get 50%. I couldn't believe their terrible policy.

In addition, it is extremely hard to reach them by phone. I usually had to wait 30 minutes on the phone to get my turn.

Sorry Zenni Optical, I am enough with you, NEVER buy from Zenni optical again and wouldn't recommend anyone buy from you. VERY BAD experience with Zenni optical. Horrible service.

You get what you paid for. What do you expect paying $9 for a cheap pair of glasses? It's not going to be spectacular in quality, and it's sure not going to be a Gucci or Tommy Hilfigure. It's already common sense that ordering from them that the quality of their lens and frames are going to be crap.

Seriously... did you expect them to be able to do progressives well? DH ordered a pair of sunglasses from them to drive to and from work. He knows they'll be ugly, but doesn't care.

You really do get what you pay for. For your vision needs, you should really order from a reputable B&M eye care professional. I certainly wouldn't trust an overseas retailer for more than simple single vision lenses.

Where exactly do you think places like LensCrappers are getting their frames from? You think they're not made in China? We already know they pay a couple of bucks a piece for frames and jack them up 1000% (if not more)

in my household we have ordered a total of 8 pairs from them (husband, dad, stepmom all getting several pairs of regular + sunglasses), not ONE issue with any of them..

My husband uses regular lenses, so his 4 pairs were a whopping total of around $50, while my parents both use progressive so they were about $50 a pair for the 4 pairs they got total..

a HUGe savings over the regular b&m stores and as i said, they are perfect.

I ordered three pair for me (just for distance). One tinted for sunglasses. Also ordered a pair of progressives for husband. They came in 10 days and were perfect. Used the $8 frames on all. Frames are a little lighter than the Walmart glasses I usually buy. But, I can order 20 pair for the price I pay for one at Wallyworld.

Vision is perfect for my single and husband's progressive. I have told all my friends about this. It is great.

I've had several orders from them, back from when they were not too well known and I have YET to have a bad experience. Or, any problems at all for that matter!

for the OP did you have your prescription and the glasses checked by your doc?

i'm guessing it's another case of user error as you have to measure yourself.

I got regular single vision lenses, but I just got my 4 pairs in today and they are great! My only real disappointment was in my own frame selection on one, it's not a style I would have normally chosen so it's my fault, not theirs. The quality seems great on first inspection. We'll see how long they hold up.

Zenni is really cheap China product, so I think you shouldn't complain much.. if you want better glasses, better to buy some glasses with $30 or more.

My mom has bought some cheap glasses about $5 (not from Zenni, but china product too), the quality is not good, but she cannot complain much because she get what she buy, the price is equivalent with the quality..

While the frames might not be the best, they are good quality for the money. The lenses, IMO, are the exact same quality as you would get anywhere else.

I bought my glasses for ~$40 total. Lenses alone at Costco would have been twice as much.
