I was out feeding my flowers this morning and found the oldest coupon I have ever seen!! The expiration date was 12/31/2000. Yes, my Miracle Gro was THAT old!!! BUT, it still works (so I think :-)
Anyhoo - after laughing at myself for being excited that I found a coupon inside a box of Miracle Gro that had to be old as dirt, I had an idea.
What if we had a contest to see who could come up with the oldest coupon???
Here's how it works - [already checked with the Mods so we're good to go - have fun with it!]:
Whoever posts the oldest coupon, that is, the coupon with the oldest expiration date, wins a Target gift card - sponsored by me. I'll even take my own coupon out of the running
RULES:
- All coupons must be posted to this chit-chat site by next Saturday, 7/12. [you might want to pm me to let me know you posted].
- All posted coupons MUST have their barcode altered in some way.
- If you are unable to scan and upload please mail your entry to me so that I receive it by next Saturday, 7/12. PM me if you need my address.
- I am not responsible for lost or late entries.
- I will compile all entries on Sunday and the winner will be announced on Monday, 7/14, here in this thread.
- The coupon with the oldest expiration date wins a $5 Target Gift Card that will be mailed on Monday, 7/14.
- In the unlikely event that we have multiple "oldest expiration dates", a winner will be randomly drawn from those entries. I will have Pretzels draw the winner from a hat.

These are the same idiots that were shooting off aerials, but not shooting them up in the air! They were shooting them sideways, so the would shoot straight out, instead of up!! And these weren't little bottle rockets, these were ones that exploded 3 times!!! All the while, their kids are running around the same area!!!
Then again, we all know there are a lot of people abusing these coupons whether legally or illegally( $1 cpn on 0.95) travel size product. But lemme tell ya what I heard happened yesterday.
Someone and their son came in with a cart full of crest whitening strips returning them w/o reciept
Greed is going to bring the demise to all of us SD'ers and its gonna be ppl like this thats gonna have all ya'll complaining when they don't take coupons when they have no choice but to prevent loses like this. Screwing big business is gonna screw us all in return when their gonna have to jack up the prices to cover against such loses.
SO, if anyone has any complaints about compliance just read our own postings and see how many ppl have been taking advantage of the system (100 packs of goldfish for $10 (ex)) and just realized that the our personal greed is who you should be mad at and not Target or any company for restricting (how ever severe) the abuse of the system which is suppose to stimulate business instead of gross abuse.
Then again, we all know there are a lot of people abusing these coupons whether legally or illegally( $1 cpn on 0.95) travel size product. But lemme tell ya what I heard happened yesterday.
Someone and their son came in with a cart full of crest whitening strips returning them w/o reciept that used a debit card (sys does not show any cpns applied) and we all know that there has been coupons netting a huge chunk of change off the price if not making them free and got back $1600

(1) Any retail stores will take items back with original receipt in certain time (30-90 days), especially no cpns used.
(2) Not many stores will take return without receipt. Target will only allow 2-3 return (<$20) without receipt per year.
Seems target should work on its systems (return & coupons) rather not allow its own coupons.
